Looking for a solution. I have replaced the hose on the return fuel line a while back and it still looks good.
Last week I changed the fuel filter, and I have the prime-loc set up. I have double check the tightness of all components that were involved with the filter change and all are tight. The replacement filter is a FS1253 screw on filter with the WIF attachment on the bottom. Is it possible to get a bad filter/gaskets that would cause this problem. No problem before this change, but started a couple days after the change. I could try another filter, but looking for solution for this at present time.
Thanks for your in put.

Did you take the filter off and inspect the seal?

Stupid question (and no offense) did you make sure the old seal wasn't stuck to the filter base? Usually they come off with the filter but it does occasionally happen, especially if the filter has been on for an extended time or it is near the engine and heat.

I know about the PITA, done that already. I always check for the old gasket upon removal. I pulled it again to make sure there was not a wrinkle in the top- gasket and made sure the drain was tight also. Also wiped of the mount to get rid of the drips. The PRO-LOC is a divorced filter mount, that gets the filter away from the engine and is more convenient to work with, in a remote way. (See my photos of my rig.) Its moved back to the corner of the and fender and fire wall.
The strange thing is it started when I changed the filter and was fine before with no indication this would come about.

Thanks for your response.

Fuel Tank end

Hi,
My 2500 was leaking from the rubber lines at the tank. First one was a feed (3/8") line with a crack next to the Tank Fitting. Next was the return line. Should have done both when i had the bed up.
Not to bad a job,i was able to get to them pretty easy by raising the bed.

I take it your return fuel line is still in the original position. I would take it off and check for hairline cracks on it. Mine had them and it started leaking fuel after I shut it down usually pointed up hill ( it has been a long time since I changed it.)

Did you loosen any banjo bolts to prime it that mite of came loose?

The return line on mine had a hairline crack at the banjo fitting at the injector pump. But mine was also leaking a small amount of fuel. Inspect it carefully with a mirror and flashlight. Given the ready availability of the part, I suspect that it is a fairly common issue. Even with the line off and under a magnifying glass, I couldn't see the crack.

Never touched the overflow banjo bolts, or any thing other than changed the fuel filter and couple days later have this start to happen. Rechecked the filter for foreign items, gaskets, dirt, seal, all was ok. Kind of a coincidence this starts at this time of a change.
When I was working and the tractor I drove, and a few others, had a prime lose problem also. Come to find out the shop got a bad bunch of filters that would not seal like they should. Changed the filters all was good. The castings were just a little off and caused the problem. But the Fleetgaurd has always been dependable. Been using them since the truck was new. Hate to change a brand new filter, less work than the suspected hose.

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
