I go to start my truck and it starts easily but only pulses a few times then shuts down. Like a on off switch. Give it fuel accelerator pedal and nothing. It can do it twice or 20 times before it starts. Doesn't happen all the time. Happened this morning and I returned the ignition switch to run position and slowly pressed the accelerator pedal down then slowly let it up. Like resetting the APPS sensor. Fired up fine. Once it starts it runs fine. I have noticed it has the first 3/4" pedal movement dead spot then picks up to where the RPM should be in that pedal position. I am using Tim's APPS replacement sensor. Had it for 3 years. Could that be the problem ? Has 15 pounds fuel pressure even while acting up.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Dead pedal usually means dying injector pump. How old is yours?

I have put 150,000 miles on the truck. Odometer reads 320000 miles
I do not know how old the injector pump is. Fuel pressure is at 15 pounds. Are you thinking electrical in the injector pump ?

You don't need the APPS for the engine to start and idle. If I understand correctly, it starts, runs briefly than stalls and is hard starting after that. Sounds like an air leak somewhere between the fuel tank and low pressure side of injection pump. Unless you've got any codes that point to something specifically start with the basics first.
