Why is this happening? Wierd transmission problem

This morning on my way to work the transmission temperature light and "O/D off" light came on for a few seconds. I was only a mile away from home, and the engine was still cold. How could the trans already be hot? It went off, then came back on as I pulled into work. Happened again on the way home; when the light was on, no over drive. When it went out, everything was fine. Then back on again, and no o/d. Any thoughts? ('07 2500 5.9 Cummins 4x4 automatic).

Probably the VB harness is shorting inside the trans, typical problem when you start seeing flashing lights and weird behavior like that.

my 03 will throw a check gages light, or throw a trans temp light every now and then. At least the check gages seems to be a programing issue. I get the temp light same as you, every now and then.

I replaced the governor pressure solenoid and the transducer, now everything is back to normal.

Well you probably moved some of the wiring harness around to make it work right. Should have taken Cerbs advice . See my signature
