My 06 with only 69000 miles did a strange thing while towing the camper. Going up hill in od it down shifted to 3rd and when it went to lock up it felt like it slammed in and out 3 times before I lifted the throttle. It then locked and seemed fine as I babyed it home the last couple miles. When I went to back in the driveway I had to put it in 4 low cause it wouldn't push the camper up the hill. Fluid level was ok not burnt but now have a slight drop from converter inspection cover. Later in the day I had to tow another trailer that weighs about the same along the same route and everything worked flawlessly other than the drip. The truck is stock and I have changed fluid and filter and adjusted the bands yearly. Any ideas?

I've not tried that. I'm a heavy equipment mechanic and drive my service truck daily and not my dodge. I thought about the solenoids but was unsure where to get them before I do a fluid change and check the pan for chunks

I just found a master solenoid kit with the governor upgrade from electrical advantage.net in Oregon for $259. It sounds like it should cover the basics Anyone used this company before?

That is where I got my solenoid kit. Easy install.

Solenoids won't cause those symptoms without a CEL. Solenoids won't cause the lack of power in reverse.

Before arbitrarily throwing parts at it a scan to find any stored codes is in order. The leak could be anything form a seal to something is about let go from the slamming in-out of lockup, that will take removal and inspection to validate.

If anything, the transducer shorted out or had a glitch for some reason. Could be a bad VB harness or it has just reached the end of its life. Dropping to drive and hard lockup is usually a sign the TCM saw an over temp situation and reacted. If the leak has not quit and trans is functioning correctly there is now an issue in the TC area.

Scan and see but a good bet you need a transducer and a VB wiring harness. that usually comes with solenoids but can be had without for a lot less $$.

That is a symptom of overheat. Were you pulling hard enough that it was in a gear that will not lock up (1st or 2nd) as they will get warm pretty fast in those circumstances. I would confirm the cooler flow back at the trans return line just to make sure the cooler isn't plugged. You should get at least a quart in 30 seconds at idle.
