Backup camera adapter?

I removed my tailgate on the signature truck to install my Lance Camper. I'd like to find an adapter that plugs into the factory harness where the tailgate camera was, preferably with the RCA style plugs to adapt to one of the less expensive cameras. Either an adapter or a camera with 10+ feet of cable that mates to the factory plug.

Just getting another factory camera won't work because the cable isn't long enough to go to where I want to mount the camera.

It's near impossible to hit the ball on my car carrier!

If you find one I'd like to know about it too! All I've been able to find requires either wireless or running wires for a stand alone camera. I want to use the display that's already in the truck with the factory wiring.

Lots of people looking Ron but I guess nobody has encountered our problem.
In my research I see that Lock Pic has a nice (expensive) solution that adapts a wireless camera to your in cab unit.

Next up is the Satellite Radio antenna move but there is some info on that move here.

Not necessarily the answer you're looking for, but you might check out the 'IBall' wireless camera that mounts using a magnet in the rear and plugs into a 12v outlet in the cab.

My Palamino truck camper has a wireless back up camera. Just ordered a 2016 Laramie last night and was wondering if there is any way to hook it up to work with the 8.4 display after I remove the factory tail gate. I have 9-12 weeks to figure it out.

You have to disconnect the wiring at the bottom and plug in a plastic cover to the part that remains on the truck. This holds the wiring in place and protects the contacts. After that, the tailgate removes in the normal fashion except you have to hold it almost closed to release the tension on the "helper" torsion bar. I usually put the plastic plug protector on after the tailgate is off since it's easier to get your fingers in there then.

Much easier to do than describe.

I also found a wireless solution that I think I'm going to try. It will talk to your smartphone over Bluetooth. Hopefully this will work for me.

The only reason I need some sort of camera is to hook up a trailer when the Lance camper is on the back.

I first looked at options involving my smartphone and bluetooth cameras. Apparently this was still the wild west. I got the Iball and was happy with the plug and play results. Let us know if
you have any other experiences.
