Guns, Bows, Shooting Sports, and Hunting Gun safe

I was saddened this morning to hear of the passing of Yogi Berra. He was one of my childhood heros ranking up there easily with Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth, and Davy Crockett. I'm sure there are others on the tdr who will remember him fondly.

They were a different breed of players than now days. They never had the belief they were on a pedestal and when they said something, it meant something. They brought life to a game and the people loved it. Did you know most fought in WW2 and lost good years of game time ? And not in the back for entertainment, many on the front line. Now days players can learn many things from them instead of their pampered pedestal life style they have now. Rest in Peace Yogi.

Ive read that Yogi was a gunner on some sort of 36 foot gun boat providing close in support for the normandy invasion among other actions. At some point he was wounded in action.

I thought very highly of Yogi Berra. He and Roger Maris were my New York Yankees hero's. Still love them Yanks. I love Yogi's famous quote, "It ain't over till it's over".
