I'm coming to the conclusion that the grid heater cycling on my 07 5.9 may be impacting the fuel injectors. I've owned the truck for just over 3 years and only notice this during the grid heater cycling as it gets colder outside. Sometimes when the heater kicks in, the fuel injector "fishbites" or misses and it is very noticeable. It never happens without the grid heater cycling - ever. Since the new injectors were installed it has run smooth up until the glow plugs started cycling with cold weather.
I wouldn't be so concerned, but knowing that electrical gremlins and poor grounds can wreak havoc in many ways, I began to wonder if there may be a link to failed coils in the injectors and because I just replace all my injectors I would like to avoid a repeat.
I removed and cleaned the most obvious ground connections right after I got my truck but it is possible some could have been missed or maybe some are simply weak to begin with.
Are there specific grounds that need special attention to ensure proper power gets to the injectors or are there improvements to the grounds that should be made?
