Quick up date. I have emailed all my info in and have talked to Ram several times on the phone. I am waiting for a call to confirm my appointment. I will meet and they take the truck. I will say that everytime I email something in they respond with a call and a reply email. I will miss the truck but have already priced out an order for a 16. MSRP is 71965 invoice is 65773 plus $5500 in rebates drops it to 60273. I will wait until jan or feb to order, hopefully more rebates then. I am a business owner so I sometimes get other business link rebates. We shall see.

Don't you get an additional $2k if you buy another Ram? Do you lose that by waiting til 1st quarter 2016?
BTW, thanks for the updates!

zb, I'm just curious. Are they going to give you the value based on the estimate which became effective Sept. 1 or does the amount continue to decrease as time goes on due to a lower KBB value and additional miles? Seeing how long it's taking them to get you squared away, just makes me happier that I was able to get a good deal on the trade and didn't have to wait for the buyback check.

I do "lose it" but they were only offering me 40 plus the 2. So 42 towards a new one. I deal with the fleet guy and he said take the buy back, it's a better deal.

My first actual look up was at 45,367. I printed that out and kept it. Earlier over the phone I was quoted higher, but I never saw it in writing. When I got my info into them the offer was 44.869.
This has not changed at all, if I go to the site and punch in my vin the offer is about 1200 less. But they have been holding at the 44,869 number. I had to sign paper work at that number so I believe that is what I will get. I also asked about pulling my extra stuff off. ARE cap, B & W turn over hitch, air bags with on board air. No problem, offer is for stock truck. I'm pulling everything.
I have owned it for 4.3 years. I paid 49 plus tax and plate. it stickered for 60. I drove it 42,355 miles, never a single problem. So I'm happy. I feel I drove it 42k miles for not a ton of money. I realize I am not getting my tax money back also.

That sounds like a pretty good deal then ZB. My numbers on my '12 Longhorn were similar. $44,582 was original estimate. This included tires at 50% or greater and mine were worn, so I would have received less. With the trade in incentive and not having to pay sales tax on the trade in value, as mentioned above, I came out about $400 better by doing the trade. Similar to you, I owned my '12 about 3 yrs. Put 49k miles on it. Stickered for $60,100 and I paid $47,900 back in '12. New '15 stickered for $62,260 and I paid $50,641.

just for giggles I ran my '10 Big Horn in the FCA repurchase estimate again today. 9/3/15 it came back (52,000 miles) as $29,495 + $2,950 for a total of $32,445. 10/29/15 (54,000 miles) it's now $27,116 + $2,712 for a total of $29,828. Less than two months with an additional 2,000 miles and a drop of $2,617. Ouch.

I think the NADA numbers update about about every 15 days. That is what I was seeing. I am still waiting for my appointment phone call.............I realize I could save sales tax by trading now and ordering a new one. Bot I'm hopefull I can do even better by waiting until jan or feb.

I sent off an email yesterday with my reg and title using the VIN as the subject. Today, I got a call from a rep asking for current mileage as of today. She said they'll be calling back soon with details pending an inspection. We'll see how it goes...

I guess I'm confused. Is this only for 2008-2012 trucks or does it include newer than that? And if it does where exactly do you go to find out if your truck is included? I know where to go to check on recalls but not sure about this. Thanks

Just got off the phone when my VIN didn't return any info at the repurchase site. Because I had the recall performed and completed I am not eligible for the buy back program. The steering column issue isn't on the "buy back issue" list.

It was just a curiosity call on my part anyway but if you've had the recall done, you're not eligible...

Go to the web site and see if your truck qualifies for the buy back. If you had the recalls done then it will not qualify. Only certain years and certain recalls qualify.

as expected, I received my low ball offer today for $29,715. I asked why it was $2600 less than the value I pulled up on their site 9/3/15 when the buyback started (and I got a case started), but the only reply was I don't know, but this is the official offer... Guess it's time to get the recall work done!

I figured something like that would happen since the KBB/estimated buyback numbers kept decreasing about every 10 days. Glad I got out of my 2012 when I did and could still get a great deal on trading it.

i'll see what kind of trade value I can get when I get the recalls done. Not anxious to get out of the truck, but it would be a good time for me to get higher towing capabilities. Too often I'm in a position of NEED instead of want, so this is a nice situation for a change!

RAM is working very slowly on these buy backs. I have all kinds of paper work but no check. A lot of talk but no action. Does anyone know anybody who actually got a check?

I'm starting to lose faith in RAM. I am over 60 days in this process. I have all the signed paper work etc. But I have had it for over 6 weeks. When I call all they say is they are waiting for the check to get processed. Men while I have not had the use of my truck for over 2 months. They told mr up front if the milage was different then what I reported it would change the value. I'm starting to rethink about ordering a new one......................not sure what to do.

ZB--don't they still offer the extra $2000 trade in if done before Jan. 4? I'd go that route if you're planning on getting another Ram/Cummins. Might mean trying to find one in stock somewhere vs. ordering though. It worked out well for me.
