1993 W250 LE my first cummins too

is 2 gallons> antifreeze enough?

Just purchased my first Cummins. I'm trying to plan ahead here and will need a good service repair shop in the Los Angeles area. I actually live in Santa Fe Springs near the 605 and 5 fwy. I don't want to go to the dealer as I have had bad experiences with dealers before. Can anybody recommend a good tech/mech in this area? Thanks in advance for your help guys.

Hopefully you bought a extended warranty, as these trucks have become very complex. So other than oil and filter changes you will be using the dealership service.

This is the second warranty that I have every purchased, the first was on a VCR player that never broke.

I bought the 120k/8 year warranty.

For now I would be happy with a shop that is decent enough to trust with my oil changes.

Hi Kojack, please consider creating a signature including details about your truck, so we can have an idea of just how complex your rig is.
Thankfully I haven't really needed a shop for repairs, but I do need one for emission testing. I use a local truck repair shop who is also a Cummins warranty facility. I know they also have Chrysler diagnostic equipment and have a good reputation via word of mouth. They ain't cheap, but if I ever needed something I couldn't do- that's where I'm going. Years ago, when my rig still was covered under the 3/36, there was a production run that had leaky fuel pumps and mine was included. With a bit of homework, I found out about a dealer 25 miles away in another state that employed a Cummins specialized technician. I was fortunate that they were willing to take my claim and that he would do the job, and they did a fantastic job. Not all dealers are bad.

Nice! We need pic's! Is it 4x4 and crew cab?

Nick

Crew cab with 2wd. I know I know I regret not getting the 4X4 but I'm in Los Angeles and I really wouldn't use it. It was between a SLT 4X4 or a Laramie 2wd. I'll get a pic as soon as I figure out how to get it on here.

Pictures are easy on a smartphone. Just hit the little picture frame over this quick reply dialog box.

I see it's a 2016. I really would consider a Chrysler/Mopar warranty covering at least the electronics for as long as you plan to own it.

With all the tech on the 4th gen dealer service will be required. If it were me I would build a relationship with a service advisor early on and you will be golden.you have an expensive vehicle spend a few bucks to protect your investment
