There is a thread going on RV.net about RAM death wobble on new trucks, yet on her there are very few post about it.

So what gives, are these new trucks still experiencing death wobble? I never had it with my 2001.5. Snoking

Don't beat the horse Sno, it's dead. I honestly believe that some people are mistaking an odd and out of the ordinary slight shimmy for Death wobble.

I had worn out track bar bushings that caused my 04 to wobble like a fat girl in yoga pants once. No way that I could drive out of that without immediately pulling to the shoulder. I replaced it with a OEM Mopar bar and never happened again. Non of my previous Dodge Cummins ever did it.

I think any live, solid front axle vehicle can get the death wobbles if something is loose.

A lot of the time, if you had all the story, the problem would be found on a truck with a lift kit and huge, heavy aftermarket tires with a lot of offset to the outside to fit them to the truck.

I've only read about one case of DW on '13 & newer 3500's or '14 & newer 2500's. Link to thread over on rv.net???

Late in the 2008 MY, RAM went from a "Y" style steering linkage to a "T" style steering linkage. I had the "Y" style on my 2007.5 RAM 3500 MegaCab 4x4 SRW, experienced DW, and replaced with the upgraded "T" style linkage. Problem fixed. :)

With that being said...the size of the steering linkage on the new trucks is very robust. I'm at 131k miles and everything is tight as can be. I'd imagine all the ones complaining are running leveling kits with no adjustable track bar, and hideous 20x12 or 22x14 wheels with the cheapest rubber one can stretch onto the wheels.

I've had 2 death wobble experiences, both happened going over an unusually large expansion joint while on a left curve on the highway at over 55 mph. Both times, I was running 70psi on the front axle. I've since dialed it back to 60psi and haven't had the issue since. But I'm also thinking it's partially due to the transforce HT's on my truck. Front end seems solid, no real amounts of play that I've noticed when rotating my tires. Dealership checked alignment and it's all in spec. I've also bought a new bilstein steering stabilizer that I will install once I get some new tires on there. Thinking 325/65r18 which are roughly the same as a 35x12.5r18 tire. Just has more load capacity. Also runs a lower pressure for the same load carrying capacity as the stock 275/70r18's. I have a theory that maybe you get more of a basketball effect that the suspension has to fight harder to counter when you run a higher pressure tire.

Love it, 131k on a 2014, must be a commercial truck?

Agreed, the new steering looks very stout, thinking it will last and drive well for a while. And when it becomes worn, just replace some parts (maintenance) like JHawes said, and then drive more.
