New Truck Mileage

Hey gang,

Just filled for the first time and this sucker is sipping Fuel! Hand calculated 16.1 mpg 372 miles, 23 gallons of fuel! Wow can't wait for it to break in. I am using tow haul and active exhaust around town.:-laf

I just read Fuel capacity is 32 gallons? WTF??? IN A LONG BOX? Oh well it still sipping Fuel.

Lower trims like my Tradesman have 32 gal. Upper trims like Laramie have 31.

Not sure where the break is in these trims

That seems strange, that they would have two tanks that close in capacity. The real question is who has pushed the tank to its limits? Snoking

2011 Dually I put 36.42 in it. 2015 Dually 32.65 gallons in it's 32 gallon tank.

The DEF tank got in the way thus the smaller fuel tanks..... I was hoping someone would make a larger tank for the short bed truck even if it hung down a little bit I'd be happy if they could squeeze 35-38 gal rather than the 32. I know it don't sound like much until your sweating making it to the next fueling station as the last 4 you passed did not have power like I ran into two years ago in route to the Fla Keys.... Stupid Ice storm in the Carolinas.....

I think they will actually hold more then advertised. My 98 I would put 36+ gallons in it many times.

This was very little city. Drove from Carson city to silversprings to yerrington . Friend has long bed. He did hiway and got 18.4..all speed limits. A lot of 55 and. Some 65....

Never heard of that in a new truck

Most combo was around 13... Average was 13.9.. After trip the average went to 16! Maybe I'm lucky and got one of those that will get over 20.....

The problem might be that you are using the smaller galon while the rest of us are using the larger gallons! SNOKING
