Got a set of Husky rear mud guards. They have a paint protection film, I guess to put on the fender right behind the mud guard. Have any of you encountered this and did you install the film?

I personally would use the film. I installed Mopar Mud guards on my 99 and they actually rub thru the paint in a matter of time and the film may eliminate that problem.

Last year when i purchased my 2014 2500 SBCC 4X4 the first thing I did was purchase the Husky mud flaps front and rear . I was a little concerned about using the film and how much trouble it would be to install correctly but it was easy . Just follow the directions and use the soapy water spray . Manufacturers like Gm have been using it for 20 years or more to protect painted areas subject to abrasion or rock damage on their trucks . The flares move slightly in the wind stream and can wear thru the paint finish over time so I applaud Husky for adding this as an added plus . I was concerned when I ordered the flaps how well they would fit the factory flare and wheel opening. These were bar none the most precise fit of any aftermarket or factory accessory I have ever put on a truck. Husky makes a great product . i also bought their new moulded to fit front and back black floor mat liners and they fit like a glove . I love these things . They are not slippery like many rubber mats and liners . Great , Great product IMHO Enjoy your new ride The new ram cummins is the best truck there is

I like those where did you get them. And did they come with the chrome accents.

Go to DuraFlap's web site they have MANY sizes and styles. As far as I know unless someone since has done the same these are one of a kind. I asked if the rear flap could be done like pictured, they checked with their shop and the process began. The stainless is actually routed in the rubber to be flush. Great people to deal with.

I have the Husky's but didn't install the film. Can't remember what the reason was.. I have no issue.

DuraFlaps are great flaps. The owner, Dennis, and staff take great pride in their work. I am fortunate to live seven miles from their factory. Very nice facility. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed. Lonnie

I put the Husky ones on the front, and I did use the film. I put the film so it is almost completely covered by the flap. I thought the film was a good idea and easy to install. you can use windex to make it not stick right away so you can adjust it. just let it dry before putting the flap on.

DuraFlap here. I just want to thank all of you for so much support. We are very grateful to all of you for helping make us the best we can be.
If you are a member, and you need the custom shifting of the drill less mud flaps due to aftermarket offset wheels, we do that at no charge instead of the 10% off. That is a $40 per pair savings.
