Hi

I need a new VIN sticker. It's a long story but I live in Europe, the vehicle has been on UK plates, Spanish plates and is now on Irish plates. Due to increasing bureaucracy I need a new VIN sticker, the old one having been destroyed in 2000. There are various websites advertising them but they need a photo so please could someone send me a photo of their VIN sticker. It would be best if you blanked out your own VIN number or at least the last six digits, either that or trust me.
It should be of more or less the same truck, a 92 Dodge Cummins D250 single rear wheel, conventional cab. Ideally the first part should read 1B7KE26CINS****** the last six digits are the unique part.
I don't know if you can attach a photo to a private message on here but if you can't pm me and I will send an email address.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I think lmc has them they you should have a metal vin in the widow von the drivers side then the plasc on the door jamb that might be able to be bought not the steel I'm sure

I think so too, a Chryslerdealer should beable to deliver you a new sticker. After an accident they are needed all the time.

Yes, I order them for Freightliner and Western Star trucks all the time. Collision repair / repaint, adhesive lets go, fade out, driver cleans door jamb with an aggressive chemical, etc....

Your RAM dealer should be able to order a fresh one for you. Not sure what they will charge, if anything, Ours cost $75.00 with shipping included....

Yeah this isnt so easy....

I have gone down this road before and you are 100% correct, they want a photo to start with. So dumb considering you dont have one to begin with hence why you want one...

I have tried the dealer and they told me they were not able to help with this and I work really close with my dealer. If anyone has had luck, I am interested in hearing how as well!

Many thanks to everyone who has replied. I have just rung LMC and they confirmed they don't do them. They said try your dealer. This is very difficult as I live in Ireland, Europe. Would anyone be able to send me a photo of their VIN sticker as outlined above?

What the heck..... no Chrysler and or Jeep Dealers in whole Ireland??????
Must be a Car Desert this little Island. Maybe because of that all the Irish went to America.

There are Chrysler and Jeep dealers here but the only sell the EU-nazi approved crap. If you say 92 Dodge Ram D250 with the Cummins engine the dealers in the UK and Spain just look stupid. I will try the Irish dealer in Limerick tomorrow.

General note:- the EU makes it as difficult as possible and sometimes impossible for people to import American made and spec vehicles. Effectively you are right Ireland is a car desert, the cars you see on the roads here are dismal. So much for free trade, as a UK citizen resident in Ireland I will be voting Brexit.
Anybody got a photo please?

That is not True, they have full service for every Chrysler Product, you can even order MOPAR part from a Fiat Dealer nowadays.
And FIAT has a big Partswarehouse for Dodge Parts in Torino, i ordered a Ram Exhaust that way and had it here in Switzerland within 24h. for a reasonable price.

That is very interesting, I have had the truck since 2000 and things never used to be that easy. I do hope you are right.

Wonderful, that is near enough, mine is 1B7KE26C1NS622528. The reason why my sticker was destroyed is in the top right. In the great freedom loving EU vehicles over 3500 kg have to have a tachograph. I don't care to explain to our genuinely freedom loving friends in the USA what a tachograph is. I managed without in the UK and Spain for fifteen years but here in Ireland no one is allowed to do anything without the express permission of an EU-nazi in triplicate. Do you have tachographs in Switzerland?
Many thanks.

Yes, for commercial used vehicles over 3500Kg. So for my RV I don't need it luckily.

That changed with FIAT, they try to support all Chrysler Vehicles, even the non officially imports ones. 24h Parts delivery was new to me too. I was used to order my parts from overseas until my Jeep Dealer told me about the new Times.

Many many thanks to Ozymandias for his help, his photo enabled me to get a copy of the VIN sticker made. I also got a letter from the Limerick Chrysler saying that the VIN sticker was no longer available to cover me in the unlikely event that the technician from the test centre spotted it was the result of private enterprise.
I am going to test the Limerick dealer on spares availability during the autumn to see if Fiat-Chrysler's spares service is genuinly worldwide and will report back to the thread.
In the meantime photos of an Irish registered First Gen Dodge Cummins.
