Ball Joint Help!!

Long time lurker, first time posting...

I'm replacing ball joints on my 2005 Ram 2500. I've pressed out both ball joints already and am replacing them a Dynatrac set. Problem is, the lower ball joint didn't need to be pressed in...!?!?!? It just slid in with a little bit of grease. This can't be right can it? Any insight would be awesome.

Afterthought... Do I need to switch to a knurled ball joint instead?

Yes, Eithrer they have been replaced before with a knurled set or the old one wore out the knuckle.
TDR issue 91 pg16 covers the different ball joints and the reasons for the different sizes.

Yeah, worn out axle, you need the knurled dynatracs. Send tem in for replacement. There is no way around this.
