I've never replaced a clearance bulb in the 20 years I've had a DRW.

Thank you for that response. If they do go out, i don't think i will replace them because of the risk of a leak. I was wondering if they are using the bulbs that last as long as LED's. Looks like they are

I'm 51 years old......and the above statement is probably the most absurd one I've encountered to date
You'll tow a gooseneck stock trailer, loaded with cows, and no operational trailer brakes though

And HERE's Brockman again. Always looking for an arguement. Lol

Clearance lights. I didn't order them. I bought it off the lot.

Trailer, I'm not the only one admitting to doing this. Not proud of it. Will never do it again. I wasn't told the trailer had a problem until i arrived that morning. If i hadn't done it, our whole AG program would not have had their student FFA projects. The school is still using the trailer. Just not with my truck.

Any idea how long the bulbs last on clearance lights? Might be worth having the dealer do it so it doesn't leak

I can tell you a #168 clearance light bulb is good for just about 100,000 miles if you run with the headlights on all the time like I do....

(Knocking Wood)I have had clearance lights on various light and medium duty trucks since 1972, and have never had an issue(Knocking Wood Again)

Nahhhhhhhh.............
On a sidenote......If the anxiety, horror, and terror of removing a cab clearance light lense due to a burned out bulb, and possible subsequent leak, is that intense, one can always drop the headliner, and replace the bulbs that way. :-laf

On my '05 some of them have leaked over time and I have resealed them with silicone. I have replaced about 3 of the 5 bulbs in the 343k life of the truck.

My '03, 3500 has the clearance lights and they do leak, a bit. The new ones have an o-ring on the lens that makes them more waterproof. Have them on my '91.5 & have never had to replace any bulbs.
I like them since they make the truck more visible. I was following my employee's truck on a dirt road in the forests of N/E AZ. and 2 guys came around a curve, over a hill and hit him head on. totaled his truck. That's when I decided to make my truck visible enough that Ray Charles could see it. No regrets. I even installed side markers on the shell covering the bed of the truck and I think they look pretty nice. LED's & bright. Little Stevie Wonder could see those lights. (This is a poor attempt at humor and I mean no offense to anyone that has vision problems.) I'd better keep my day job!!!

Cows are for dairy. Steers are for meat. All were steers

Ummmmmmmmm..........OK. Thanks for clarifying the obvious.

What series of events made you decide to post the above....9 days, 11 hours and 20 minutes after your initial reply???

Must be the FL heat :-laf

As a teacher, a mistake will eat at me until i correct it.

I saw it a while ago. But didn't post the correction until now

Your first mistake was hauling livestock with a gooseneck trailer that had no operational trailer brakes....regardless if it was for an FFA project or not.

The fact you're a teacher, coupled with so many of your posts that are broken / fragmented in nature, eats at me. :-laf

Yeah. I once posted a typo where i hit 2 d's instead of 2 e's.
You will notice that they are next to each other on the qwerty keyboard. I know you've never made a mistake.
You've told all of us that repeatedly. Unlike you, i don't get upset when i'm corrected.
I'm a math teacher (calcilus & precalc). So i'm not as picky about spelling mistakes. And i'm only picky about word usage when it changes the answer from correct to incorrect on advanced placement exams. The fact that i speak 4 lamguages makes me realize that English may not be the best language. So i speak 4 languages. But master none.

I am not seeking approval from you. I could not care less what you think of me. Lol

Can you direct me as to where I "got upset"? If anyone's "upset"....I'd imagine it's you as you didn't bring this up until I reiterated the fact you used incorrect judgement in relation to towing a livestock trailer with no operational trailer brakes.

A math teacher with apparently a broken computer that can't even highlight / auto correct "calculus".

I'm envious of the fact that you speak four languages. Last I checked.......English is the primary language in The United States Of America.

Yes, you are the man.... As your posts always indicate. This is freakin hilarious! And (this post) does continue to show exactly what i was indicating. Ok, you "imply"that you never made a mistake by continuing to gloat over a few typos posted by others. Maybe i took liberty in saying that you "told"us this many times. I rest my case. I have watched you abuse others on this forum for similar disagreements. And yes. I have learned some things from what you have contributed. But i if i ever attend may madness, i will never let you disrespect me to my face. It is easy to trype this crap on your computer or phone, or whatever. But you will not disrespect me to my face.
