First off welcome to the forum!

Now the truck that you have purchased was already deleted? If so there has to be a tune already on the truck's ECM in order for the truck to run correctly, if not the truck will go into limp mode. So you do not need an additional tuner such as the Bully Dog Tuner for this truck. What you need to do is see if you can get the tune and programmer from the previous owner of this truck. You will need the programmer and tune for future work on this truck if you ever need to return the truck to stock for what ever reason.

Why do you want the Bully Dog tuner for in the first place?

Hope this helps you? Please responded if you need more information.

thanks for the reply
i like the Bd for monitoring differene things like intake temp, trans temp ,an such
i was told by a couple of people to run the dog for miliage an performance
i will be in contact with the pre owner to see if he rembers who did the egr delete an flashed the computer
i think he will because hes running all dodge trucks in his company

Can you run the Bully dog just in monitoring mode? Do you have to load the Bully Dog tune?

Some tuners are model specific and are VIN locked to the truck such as a Smarty which I have. That is why you need the tuner that was used to tune the truck.

Good luck

The Newer Rams need the Bullydog tuner to unlock the ECM to properly tune it when deleted. The 07.5-09 trucks do not need that to be tuned when deleted. You should be able to use the Bulydog as a gage monitor and not need to use the tunes at all. There are better options out there for tuning a 07.5-09 deleted truck that can be better suited to what the owner does with his/her truck. My 07.5 6.7 truck is tuned with EFI Live and I use a Edge CTS as the gauge pack with an external boost gauge as the factory sending unit will only read to 40 psi so I do not use that option in the Edge at all. Here is a shot of mine from inside at night showing the Edge CTS and Boost gauge.

sorry for late responce
i have been in the land of lost internet siginal
i have spoke with the pre owner several times now am
n he cant produce a name of the shop that did the tune so i am screwed at that point
i just got back off a 1200mi trip which started out with the warning ex filter full power reduction see dealer now about 100 mi into the trip
ran mostly interstate at speeds around 80 to 90 mph some short burst of 100+ mph
fuel avg 21.6 by the pen an paper overhead showed some higher numbers
guess i willl just use the BD for mointoring
