When I bought my truck I got two key fobs. So of course we have misplaced one of the Fobs. I found one on Amazon that looks exactly like the one I got with the truck. Has any one had experience with these key fobs? Or should I just go to the dealer and get one? (probably 2 one for the wife and one for a spare) Also is there any truth to only being able to have 3 keys programed to the truck or is that urban legend ?

On the chance you might have one of the Maxcare extended warranty's, it covers lost keyfobs.....

A buddy just ordered two off Amazon and they programmed fine. For the $10-15 that they cost it is worth the chance to get one.

I see about 20% of the aftermarket fobs that don't work out of the box. Most of our vehicles will take up to 8 fobs these days.
I did 8 keys when my wife got her last jeep-10 years later she was down to 3

I recently bought an oem key fob on Ebay for $64. I called around about getting it programmed. I have 2 Ram dealers about 50 miles from me in opposite directions. The one I bought my truck from wanted $110 and the other wanted $55. Guess which one I went to. It programmed just fine..... BTW: There is no additional charge for programming a second fob. Also, I was told that all existing fobs need to be present for the programming.

Thank you for the heads up. I still haven't found the missing Key Fob.
The wife is home from the hospital after her surgery. They let her come home 24 hrs. after her surgery. I look around for the missing Key Fob some time this weekend.(her health is more important than a stupid key)
I found one for $199.00 on Amazon I can get one from the dealer for about $20.00 bucks more. They want about $156.00 for the Fob, $35.00 for the blank key and $ 64.75 to cut the key and program the Fob.
So I will look around I need the Key Fob so my wife has one but being as they don't want her to drive for awhile the Key Fob can wait for a little while.

I found an exact OEM Key FOB on Amazon this morning. I ordered 2 of them. The Fobs are $89.95 ea. I can buy two of them for less than one OEM Key Fob costs @ the dealer. I should have them Monday.

Do you have a Link?
