Best Tuner/Gauge combo for 2017

Looking to order 2017 Monday. Will be parting with my outstanding 2003 which had a smarty jr setup. I liked the fact that it didnt leave a trace during warranty period. What are theoptions for a 2017, do you really need any more power (???). I like being able to see transmission temp, EGT as I could see it getting too high pulling with my 2003 and would back off.

The new truck make almost the same if not more power as your 03 with the tuner.. buy leave stock enjoy ...

Another difference is that with the 2003 the driver had to be careful not to hurt it. With the new trucks that are much smarter, the truck looks after it's self. Drive On! SNOKING

Part of the question was not answered. What about All the gages needed. What they provide do not give precise enough info.

In my post above I said trucks have gauges. Only thing they don't show is EGT. Computer will not let the truck get too hot.

So as I said drive and enjoy!

I tow a combined 33k and don't worry a bit about my gauges.

Now my 98 12V I watched them like a hawk.

Yup, don't worry about upgrading just to create more problems. These new trucks do that all by themselves.

Bottom line the ECM is locked. You unlock it Fiat will be notified by the dealer software. Have protections under the MM Act however it will be up to you to fight it. For me left mine locked and will not program it. First new American vehicle I have owned in 25 years that was not modified. On my 2015 ZO6 works this way as well so I went ahead and got into the engine to do a complete job of it.

Not going to tinker with my new beast. Runs awesome now and gets the best mpg's of any truck I have ever owned..

I use an Edge CTS on mine... only because I had it on my '05... Really don't need it but it does give a few extra gauges.. I can watch all the temps on the dash (oil temp, water temp, oil pressure, trans temp) and I watch boost, EGT, VGT Position, Gear, and DPF Cleaning Status on the CTS.
