Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Water pump upgrade

I know this is an older thread, but I thought I would add my $0.02.

I installed the Cardone 5531411 on my '04. It lasted all of two months of VERY light use. I doubt I put 1000 miles on it. I am really hoping to find a better option.

Save yourself the headache (albeit with the ISB it is in fact relatively quick and easy to remove and install the water pump) and buy an oem water pump from Cummins...they DO in fact seem to last the longer then ANY of the others. Although this is a 2nd gen truck thread, here is the part# for 2003-2007 trucks -- Cummins #2881805
