Today I was at a ride and drive event for the new megacab and the charger and the commander.

We were looking at a Cummins on display stand, next to a Hemi. A salesman there for the training was asking "Is the rumor true that the cumminGs contract is up, and would a mercedes engine be in soon. " I must of really rolled my eyes, because the instructor started laughing. He said to the best of his knowledge, the contract is extended thru 11'.

Actually... Dodge was created by the Dodge brothers. They started building bicycles. Then they started building motors for Ford. As time progressed they ended up building four wheel drive systems for Ford. Eventually... Ford sold them. The rest is history.

My understanding was that as stated above Dodge built motors and many auto parts and yes even bikes. Ford was a large purchaser of Dodge parts. Then the Dodge brothers decided to build their own cars. Ford never owned them. They started Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicles. Then one day a guy named Walter P Chrysler purchased the company in the mid 20s. Another little factoid, Dodge built and sold the first civilian four wheel drive truck. It was called the Dodge Power Wagon.

Wow really dredging here aren't we?

Something else to ponder. Noted before, Ford was anti Semite which was well known. The Dodge bros were Jewish. Look at the original insignia on the first Dodges. Perhaps DCX had a score to settle after all?
