Emissions Recall

It appears we are headed for yet another recall on our Cummins trucks 2013-15. Presently there is a TSB 18-088-15 if you get the CEL on the DEF system, but it has to have a CEL before anything is done. Here is a link

But before we didn't have a TSB #.

The government (eventually) will require they all be fixed without a CEL/MIL. The trucks could be violating emissions standards even if no CEL.

But I would imagine they are starting with those setting off CEL's

This last episode I had with the Service DEF warning, the dealer probably should of know better then or did know, and did nothing other then clearing my code, and CEL.

The least they should of done was left the code ,and CEL, then either told me I needed the TSB,or performed it there, or referred me to my local dealer when I got home. When I talked to my local dealer they said they couldn't do anything unless I had the CEL, and code. At this point I will have to just wait for the next episode, which no doubt I'll have, or wait for the recall. This will make the seventh recall on my 2014 when it happens, and it sure looks like it will.

Not a great track record for my model year, only consolation is at least they correcting some of these issues before it goes bad. Hopefully this next recall will happen before some of us actually gets stranded or in the limp mode at 5mph.
