So I now have 2,000 miles on my "new to me, 2013 Laramie Longhorn" and am starting to develop all those questions..... I've ordered new filters, etc... to change the transmission fluid, fuel filters, engine oil... etc...

BUT - when I pull into fuel.... this darn fuel traps seems to not allow the fuel nozzle to go past the first click on the speed adjustment... instead of allowing the fuel to just pour into the tank... I've got to set the nozzle on the first step and let it slowly run in.... of course... I understand this is a small thing in relationship to the huge improvement on the overall truck.... but it seems that the higher speed pumps just won't work with this new fuel flap system.. and maybe the larger truck type nozzle won't even fit.... is there a fix to get the fuel into the tank faster....

AND on the second fueling... I noticed water on the top of the trap door before I inserted the nozzle.... so I quickly purchased and installed the billet aluminum plug with the o-ring to prevent that...

Thanks for your thoughts

You have to push the nozzle in far enough to open both the upper and lower flap, so give her all you've got. That is until her cheek bulges and she murmurs "that's enough"! SNOKING

Well, I thought that I'd tried that... and she yelled "stop"..... but I still can't get the nozzle past the fist stop.... do I have to HOLD the nozzle in place or should I expect it to stay on its own.... and what about the truck nozzle... is that now history...

OK take a short and long screw driver, and use the short one to hold the upper flap open and the long one to check out the opening action of the lower one, Sounds like something is wrong with the lower one. SNOKING

I'd investigate the vent and fill hoses when I was changing the rear fuel filter. I use the auto island at several local stations and fill at full flow. I have gotten fuel on my boots trying to fit in the last drop. Damn weep hole between the first and second flap. Now I'm done on the second click.

I've had the tank burp back many times when fueling. I can't even use the first slow notch on the pump. My tank at home does not pump/ fill all that fast so it's not an issue.
