Ram Box and 5th Wheel Hitch?

Does anybody know if the Ram Boxes are problematic for a 5th wheel hitch install?

The box is narrower, making it possible for the pin box to hit it.

Search is your friend! There are several threads on this subject.

I was at the Ram rally held in 2013, at the Columbus IN. Cummins plant. One of the display trucks had a RAM box on display. In my humble opinion from my observation the RAM box pick-up bed would interfere with the pin box when you turned, unless you towed nose high. Another item I do not think the boxes can be open with the 5er attached if you only had 4" of clearance; it might work if there was 6" but no fifth wheel was attached to check this out.

The solution is the Reese Sidewinder pin box and pivots at the pin box to trailer connection area vs at the 5th wheel hitch. Google it. But be carefully with a SB truck.

I'd really like to order the Ram Boxes, but noticed that you can't select the 5th wheel Prep Group with the Ram Boxes. That kinda tells me a 5th wheel won't work with them...

Puck mounts should still be on the frame. I installed the four pucks myself.

Issue is you need the get the Reese Sidewinder pin box and 5th wheel hitch that uses the pucks and assure that you have enough cab clearance if a short box. Many use the B&W RVK3600, which is one of the best available.
