I went back , and watched the socket ,and ratchet episode. Looked pretty awkward #@$%! I used the same socket, but I use a ratchet with the swivel head, so it tilts just enough to slip it on the filter, goes on pretty smooth ,and yes that socket is snug.

At this point, I am going to have to learn this youtube or video thing, and put your curious minds to rest :) I promise I won't skip any parts, might take me a few takes to make it look right :-laf
All I was getting at was that Too Tall started cussing himself because he still had his ratchet in the LOOSEN mode when he was trying to TIGHTEN the oil filter...it happens to the best of us :-laf

You think :D

I have done everything from stepping back, and spilling a bucket of used oil all over my garage floor, to dropping the filter in the bucket, and splashing oil all over. Language came out of my mouth I didn't think I knew #@$%!

Greg.....All this ratchet stuff, extensions, caps, etc.is overkill...... I went redneck in honor of my buddy "Hulk" and just use this cheap old strap wrench I probably bought at Pep Boys when I was a youngin'......don't have to worry about which way the ratchet is going.......

I am about to embark on my first 6 mo service. I've watched you tube oil changes ( both ways ) and the needle zert in front drive line grease. Where else should I be looking for grease points? Ball joints? Tie rods ? Other places not so obvious?
I believe I have all the correct tools ( genos)
7000 mi on truck
actually looking forward to this as this site,YouTube, genos & a few other forums have helped immensely.

Thank you for your time

There's only one grease fitting and this video will tell you where it's at and one way to grease it.

Too Tall

"But I do question why he did not show lowering the filter"

No need to get defensive! My question is valid since you show every detail but did NOT show lowering the filter once the filter came loose. My question is why not and did you spill oil doing so?

I DO appreciate the time you spent doing this!

No offense taken, most people say my videos are too long so I edit out some things I don't think anyone wants to see. But if you look at 31 seconds in to this video below, you'll see what really happened.

Since you own 200 shares of WalMart stock......would you be willing to hack open a NEW MOPAR filter.....so we can better see the actual filtering media???? :-laf

Also.....at the 2:53 mark.....I think you need to change "small jet of oil that cools the bottom of the cylinders" to "small jet of oil that cools the bottom of the pistons".

Can't wait to see the strippers :D in your next video. Also----fix your hoodie strings, and have Security permanently remove that distracting duck. :-laf

Too damn funny!!!

Yea you really need to make sure the strings are aligned in the next vid!

I guess we will never know what really happened to the filter after the threads
seperated
