Low Pressure Steering Line size?

What are the problems with this year/model? Seems like a clean truck.

Truck is a 2005 dually. After several failed (and expensive) attempts to fix the AC, it appears as though the evaporator will need to be replaced and guess I might as well have the doors done while it is apart. The shop that will do the work indicated that they have done several with Dodge replacement doors and have had no problems. However, I have read where some have replaced the doors with factory doors only to have them fail again. Dodge may have come out with better doors since some had the experience of a second failure.

1. What doors are people using that seem to operate properly and last?
2. Truck has 85K on it, would you do the heater core?
3. Have watched the You Tube video by flopster 843 and he appears to recommend Blend Door USA. Anyone have experience with these doors?
4. Are all the doors that need replacing in the evaporator case?
Thanks for any help.

blenddoors.com ,just received doors for my 03,full set .waiting on heater core and a/c core from rock auto will do the upgrades in the next couple weeks

I've got both the HeaterTreater and BlendDoorUSA here at the house right now. I can honestly tell you, there's no comparison between the two. You other options include plastic replacement from Doorman or buying the entire HVAC box from Dodge because they don't sell the door separately anymore. My evaporator core from rockauto was the one made by FourSeasons and it works great for cooling, but it makes a noticeable "SHHH" sound every time the compressor cycles. It's actually quite annoying. Also, I put some rubber weatherstripping behind the re-circulation door to replace the factory foam seal. If you decide to use the weatherstripping, get something thick and make sure it's a single piece all the way around. I used 4 separate strips and now the truck whistles while driving if the re-circulation door is closed. This problem was self-inflicted because the new door seals so much better than the OEM plastic door that the pressure now pushes past the rubber seal on the HVAC box. Whatever you decide to get, be sure to get all 5 doors. Some of the aftermarket companies don't even offer the lower blend door because it's difficult to make the cam system work.

I about to tackle the same project (2003) has anyone considered the passenger side air bag. Is this an issue.

I installed HeaterTreater and new door motors on an 05 dual climate last week. While we where in there we removed and replaced both the heater core and the evaporator core. *The heat has never worked so well! *FYI- the doors that were not available from heatertreater (dual climate doors) were readily available from Mopar.....and according to my dealer still failing enough to keep in stock. *

Gary, glad to help. How's the A/C working after the recharge? You replace that upper dash panel that disintegrated when we took it apart?

Don, HeaterTreater does not make dual zone doors, but Blend Door USA does. If you ever decide to go back into the box and want to replace the rest of the plastic doors and the drivers, give those guys a look.

John, I'm ordering both dashes next week, and getting ac charged up. I know a guy at the dealer, and going to see if he will give me jobber cost.

Just ordered the complete Blenddoor USA set with dual zone. Should be delivered Tomorrow. I’m replacing all the doors, both heater core and evaporator even though I have no problems with either but makes sense to do while apart, bottom housing as it had bee cut into by the previous owner. My defrost and floor vents don’t work right. We’ll see how it goes.
