I want to buy a golf cart for the family. I have been leaning towards a gas cart but not decided yet. Which is better gas or electric? Buy from a dealer or a private party. Throw it out there I'm all ears. Thanks Brian

What are you planning on doing with it? We have a Yamaha gas cart at out summer RV Park. The park has 22 miles of dirty roads and 1400+ sites on 360 acres. Gas gives it basically unlimited range for poker runs, going to the gate and back or just tooling around. With out old 36V Harley electric cart I was always charging it.

We found a 1999 cart several years ago that had never been on a golf course. The owner bought it to shoot clays and used it only about 12 times before passing away. It had been in storage for years. I had to clean the cab. Love IT!

My Dad for years has had an electric cart. Traded it in last year for a gas. He says he likes it better, less maintenance, no charging, etc.

I'm going against the grain on this one. We have two PDS 36v carts that run forever, and we are located on the side of a hill. My housekeepers run the **** out of one of those on a daily basis. The other is for my use (abuse) and other than plugging it in at night, I don't maintain it very well. I've had to tow mine back maybe once in the last 9-10 years because I killed the batteries. I use Costco 6v's in both carts.

When we first started looking for a cart, I was determined to buy a gas cart as well. In my parts, used gas carts are expensive, and somewhat hard to locate so we bought electrics. No choking, almost zero noise, and full torque/HP at the blip of the go pedal....... Gawd I sound like a liberal :D

If I was in need of a gas cart, it would be a SXS Rhino or Polaris Ranger or similar.
