Seach Function Issue

I've had the same issue, my fix is to always select "Go Advanced" before attempting to reply which seems to solve the space bar issue. Especially if trying to quote.

Mike.

Those who are having problems, if you can let me know which browser (and browser version if you know it) you are using I'll look into what I can do to resolve it.

I tried it on Windows 11 and it works great. Google Chrome is where I can replicate the issue right now.

Fine on a direct reply but if you "Reply with quote" then you cannot insert a space until you select "Go Advanced"...I have noticed it while PM ing as well, bad enough that I start a new reply rather than replying within the inbound PM Message. That would be on Google Chrome as well.

i-phone does not seem to be doing it today....

Hope that helps..

Okay, I spent the better part of the morning investigating this, and made changes to the configuration settings, as recommended at vbulletin.com. However, they say it's a bug due to Chrome, not the software, since it seems to come and go depending on which version of Chrome you're running and your settings. I'm running Chrome 56, the latest, and cannot duplicate the error myself. The thread I found there were people were having the problem, they were running Chrome 54.

The changes I made should fix it, but if not, first check to see if you're running an older version of Chrome and update it. If that does not resolve the issue let me know.

Thanks

At this point I'm going to have to give up and wait until VBulletin pushes out an update. They currently have a beta of an update which supposedly addresses this, but its too buggy to roll out at this point.

It does come and go on the iphone, but I just switched out to a new laptop this morning here at work and it's running Google 56. No issues so far.

Anyone having issues can choose advanced reply and get around it anyways for the time being. I wouldn't waste anymore time on it either seeing how it's in the works.

Thanks for looking into it!!!

Mike.

Happens when quoting a post only. Type the first word and then a carriage return - type on. Then go back and backspace out the carriage return and replace with a space. Google Chrome issue that happens on other forums.

Pain in the butt. SNOKING

That is exactly what I have been doing.......

VBulletin is supposedly putting out one final update to their 4.x product line mid-May. It resolves a number of issues, and from one what I can see in the beta, the editor is one of them.

Any updates on this? i hate having to guess how the response layout is going to look because the return does nothing in the reply box.
very frustrating that is the only forum i have this issue. using FF in windows or Linux doesn't matter.

Same here... Guess on how it's going to look and preview it to death. The text as I type is all one paragraph no matter what. Return and spaces do nothing except in preview window. Firefox user.

i can use chrome, but i'm not a fan of Google watching EVERYTHING you do online, i hate google. i like duckduckgo, or startpage. chrome does work though.
but it does work correctly.
