05 Cummins in 84 chevy

I took the 12 valve ve pump Cummins and 727 Trans out of a 1990 d250 and put it into a 2007 ram 1500. Still a work in progress but she runs. I'll post specs a little later.

She's 2wd for now. I have a rolling chassis from an 08 f250 4wd so I may straight axle swap it in the future. I'm going to drive her like this for a while though.

What did you do in your fuel tank , im doing the same thing in a v 10 truck

It wasn't too hard. I had a plastic tank already in the truck. I bought a fast titanium pump and a beans diesel sump pump. I just dropped the tank, cleaned all the gas out, and removed the sending unit from the pump. I actually used the old fuel pump as the return line back into the tank. Just make sure you cut the sending unit wire outside of the tank to keep the spark from entering. Also don't touch the float wires or anything so you can retain your fuel level gauge on the cluster. After that it's easy because everything is external. I highly recommend the sump pump, it will save a lot of headaches.

Unfortunately no. The 727 is a 3 speed automatic without overdrive or anything. I'm looking for a 47rh to have built. It is a 4 speed with overdrive and torque lockup but it is also mechanical so it would be easy to swap. I'll also need the adapter plate and correct starter with that. I'm just going to run the 727 for a little while and enjoy the truck for now.

Man anybody could. It's taken me 8 years to get the truck to this point. Here is how she started. Forgot to crop it, oh well. Lol

Smooth! ^^
I could ; it's just $ & time... :/

I am working for on "underhood" stuff on my sig truck, I have plans ;)
And I only gave it 3 years so far so I'm good lol

What was the reason to not use the stock lift ? ,i was wondering if a person could use the stock fuel lines or not , how are those Fuel sumps to use im curious to how they keep from leakingetc ...

You absolutely could use the stock lift pump but I opted to use the fass system with a 1/2" fuel line to make sure the motor was getting plenty of diesel. The sump pump seals with an o ring and is very reliable. It saves from having to make a draw straw and deal with a 1/4 tank or turning issue running the motor out of fuel. The sump pump allows the fuel pump to get every last drop out of the tank. Up to you but you can get away without having it. It just made my conversion really simple on the fuel aspect.

The gas engines have higher fuel psi.The lines could be used

If you swap out and use a 47rh auto trans use a heavy duty torque converter and maybe a trans-go shift kit and be sure not to use the push on style cooler lines they will release and dump your fluid on the highway

Good to know. Sounds like you had some personal experience with that?
Yes sir I have my 12 valve was built 325 horsepower had trans built to hold that power but pullin a 44 ft trailer across l10 my cooler line unhooked and dumped all my fluid on Highway
Second rebuild I didn't replace torque converter when out pulling up a mountain these 47rh trans where a weak point
