These are the dohickeys.....very handy!!! Drill a *1/4" hole in thin steel and push 'em in. Tighten zip tie and move on..

Freightliner Part # 23-13582-001.....about $.70 each..

Yeah, they are neat but I really hate drilling holes in my truck. Just a fetish of mine. I will not even mount the hitch plug in the bed for the 5ver because of my OCD.

I hesitated the first 5 or 6 years, now I bore away......just as long as it improves function and looks ok....I even took my Snap On air drill out of mothballs just for the occasion....

There are many thin reinforcement channels about three inches below the body or cab floor to hook to.

Besides, shouldn't it be CDO instead of OCD...????:D:D:D:D

Ram uses very close to the same ty straps, even some recalls have used them over the years. They do recomend using some coating after drilling.

No I did not apply anything for protectant Sunday, but I will after I get back from my trip. I have aerosol cans of Krown protector, I'll pull the little plastic flanges down and give them a blast...not sure if everything is where it needs to be just yet....if it stays working for the duration then I'll spike it as is.

Yes, I will switch it. I left an extra circuit in my Painless wiring block just for the compressor. I like the idea of powering it down when it suits me.

I have several types of air tanks here in stock, most likely will use an El Cheapo semi-trailer air tank. Probably take an hour to fill it but I'll plenty of reserve air when I need it.....

Just remember that little compressor is 25% duty cycle at best. You put a huge tank on it and you will burn it up just filling the tank.

Yes, thanks for bringing that up...Once I had the compressor in my hands it occurred to me just how under powered it was....:D

And being a hands on sorta' guy it also occurred to me that filling my seats was going to be an issue where this is an "On Demand" air source...I'll have to request high pressure in the air bags long enough to fill both seat air bags.......cumbersome but it will get me by for a little bit...

I already found a pair of pressure switches I can add, on for cut in and cut out of the compressor and the other opens the air from the tank when the pilot solenoid calls for air. I will use the wire from the solenoid that trips the relay to make the compressor run and hook it to that valve instead....

I'll also order a larger compressor from Firestone when I add my tank and switches......gonna' be great!!!!

I had ordered a Viair system for about $350 for the truck with 100% duty cycle which has worked very well for inflating air bags, 80 psi tires and will also run my air cut off tool for a while before stopping to allow the tank to build up again. Nice system with compressor, air tank, wiring, pressure switch, cab mounted pressure gauge and on/off switch. Not the 5hp 60 gallon I had at home but it works well for the 80 psi tires on truck and 5ver.

I'll check that out, probably worth it by the time I buy individual switches and a tank PLUS a bigger compressor....

I also used the 100% duty cycle Viair 480 compressor when the little one like yours failed on me when I was trying to inflate a low tire. I used these threaded rubber mounts to isolate the noise. https://www.jwwinco.com/en-us/produ...ylindrical-Type-with-Steel-Components?q=gn351

There are other ones with female threads. These mounts are high quality. I have my Viair mounted on its side mounted under the right front door well, between the frame and the bottom door under sill. The mounts have held well with no cracking or deterioration. The compressor is in air flow when the truck is moving. The air intake for the compressor I ran a long 3/8th ID airline to under the hood where I have the air filter.
