Saw this heading North on I-5 near Smoky Point, WA. Could not miss it with the bright colors!

Reviving this thread---

I saw a 5500 flatbed when I was in Joisey a little while ago. He parked right next to me to run in n get grub and left it running. He also did a quick jump pack jump a few cars over, and I had a chance to chat. He loves the rig, the only thing they'll buy now since they had 6.0's.
What was odd was that he commented that you can't get them anymore because they're only making a fiat V6 now. Well I did explain the confusion and set him straight.

Asked a Medic the other day what he thought of the Ambulance he was driving that looked like the pic below. He said he did not like it, when asked why he said "it was a dog". Then proceeded to say he drives a F250 diesel. I just walked away!

HMMM let's see a truck that weighs 7K VS a truck that weighs 12-14K.

Glad the sports truck "medic" was not driving when I got my high speed ride for Anacortes to Everett a couple years ago! Scary enough watching cars out the back windows appear to be going backwards on I-5 as we sped past them! SNOKING

The ALLCRANE mechanic that services our cranes is driving a gasser F550. They had all diesels but switched over as they were working on their fleet more than customers equipment :-laf. That being said, he hates the power compared to his previous rigs as they are rolling around close to max GVW 24/7. At 160k miles and a bunch of idle time the Gasser is already starting to show signs of wear. He and a couple of the other mechanics have put a bug in managements ear about trying a few Ram CTD trucks.

A gas F550? Prolly a 6.8 V10. Golly I'd like to see the fuel receipts for that sucka. I'm suprised it's lasted that long!

I have a friend (yes I do have friends) that works for AT&T, he drives a F-550 he used to drive an F-750 that had a Power Joke Engine. He now has a new F-550 with a V-10 Gasser in it. He was telling me that AT&T was getting rid of all Power Stroke Equipped Trucks. He also said that they placed an order with Ram Trucks for Chassis Cab 3500/4500 & 5500 HD units. But he had not seen any in San Diego yet.

So let's wait and see.

Indeed it does seem cheaper up front to buy a gasser, especially if multiple people are behind the wheel that don't take "ownership" of the vehicle. You can buy a lot of gas for the $8-10k premium diesel commands. I have to question it in scenarios like our ALLCRANE mechanic. Those guys all take meticulous care of their trucks (they are professional mechanics BTW) and put lots of miles on week in and week out.

I may be repeating here, but it's so out there! The mini school buses. They're all gas now, and they seem to do fine. My boy is riding a ford sounds like a V8, and the thing scoots. Driver don't seem to mind- or know a difference.

Happy and safe 4th everyone!
Yes thanks for bringing this back.
All this time has past, and I'm still seeing around here that Ram is the leader in new commercial rigs, unless a large fleet buy is involved. The only challenger I see is the new F750 that has the same 6.7 Ford mill or V10 the SD has. I believe this is the job Trump stopped from being built in Mex. they must be a good deal.
