After reading all the above, I have a couple questions! With my 2017 dually I was told to run 80 psi in the rear as well as in the front because I am usually hauling my 39 ft 5th wheel...15,000 lbs worth. Should I be running with less air? Someone mentioned a chart which gives information on how much air to run in the tires in relationship to my trailer wt.? Where do I find such a chart?

Duallies never require 80 in the rears. That would be enough for 12k+ on the rear axle.

Never heard of 80 psi on rear for dualies.

Look at the sticker inside the driver's door jamb. It shows the psi specs for the rated weight. You'll probably see 65psi rear and 80psi front. Most folks run 80psi front, and way less in the rear if they are unloaded. It gives a better ride. I have mine at 50psi rear duallys unloaded and I'm happy with the ride. Some folks here said they run 35psi. When you hitch your 5ver then you need to make sure the tires can carry the load. There are charts for your tires that show their load rating at various psi. With a 15K 5ver you could run less than 65psi but you should look up the load vs psi. I know a lot of folks towing my same 5ver (13,400 lbs) with 55psi in the rear duallys. That 80psi in the rear is something you might see if you had single rear tires and not duallys. Always run 80psi front.

Not sure on the chart. Look inside the trucks front driver door at the door jamb and find the inflation information. It is not 80 on duals in the rear even at full capacity. My truck is not here at the moment but i think the rears at full load are much less than 80. Probably 60-65ish.

The information you need is on page 22 of 31.....just be sure to note the pressures and capacities in the DUAL or SINGLE columns and rows.

As stated previously.....four rear tires at 65 psi will support the axle weight rating of 9750 lbs.

I run FULL RAWR and run 65psi rear tires towing, bobtail 30-35. I run 80 Psi ALL the time front.

I have a 23K RV with almost 6K pin weight. so your 15K RV at the MOST will have a 3,750# pin. 55 psi most likely will be plenty for your load. Weigh your rig LOADED to be sure.

I've referred to this chart a couple of times since I bought my truck and if I read it correctly.....my recommended pressure is much lower than I would have expected. I wondered if I've been missing an important detail.

I have Toyo Open Country AT2's in a LT295/60R20.
I've weighed my truck (2500, SRW obviously) and 5th wheel when I had a lighter load (short trip) and it had 5200 lbs on the rear axle. If I look at page 24 of the chart, it shows that for 2600 lbs (5200/2) I would only need between 45-50 psi. Does that sound right? That just seems on the low side even for my light load. Heck, that's what I've been running empty!

Thanks everyone! I had a full tire rotation and balance at local tire shop and they went with 80 psi! I will check and adjust accordingly!!

If the tire shop was goofy enough to inflate the rears to 80 psi-----I feel confident they sure did not align the valve stems together on the dual rear wheels

That is about 1,000,000 commuting miles of experience getting 100-120K out of every set of BFG's or Michelins. Yea I drove a LOT!!!

I cannot say for certain. If I am not mistaken, the bore centers on our wheels are ~ 4.773 inches in diameter, +/- a few thousands.

Well I would not buy a truck to put a driver in, so I do not think I can answer your question. Personally we wanted the buckets and full center console for extended travel with our 5th wheel. We will never need seating for six, which is the only reason we would not be the buckets and full console.
