I have an opportunity to pick up a set of 2016 tow mirrors from a Ram Limited (is that a model, or does he mean Laramie?) for my 2014. My Ram is a bighorn, mirrors are power adjust and heated, but don't have the blinkers or puddle lights. The 2016 mirrors do have blinkers and puddle lights, and he says also built in memory, but I'm guessing the memory isn't actually a function of the mirror. I've conflicting info about this type of mirror swap. Some say only the functions the stock mirrors have will work, while others have said you can disconnect both batteries and when the computer runs through it's start up process it will learn the features that are now present, while others say the dealer can either enable the new functions are reset the computer and it then learns the functions on start up. The price is far, and i could probably sell the mirrors easily enough if they don't work out, but rather not mess with it if they arent going to work.

Second question, my truck is a white and black them, I'm not a chrome fan. The new mirrors have chrome hoods on them. Can that be bought as a part to switch to black?

Thanks

Even my tradesman with tow mirrors has the puddle lamps and turn signals. But mine doesn’t have memory. (That I know of)

Was this a regular mirror switch to tow mirror? Or was it indeed a tow mirror swap where the originals were tow mirrors?

It is likely that witech will have to update so that the BCM recognizes the new mirtors?
