I need some advice yall... My truck is out of warranty now (2014 w/ 49k miles)... I have a problem with the drivers side grab handle leaking when it rains. Water will drip out of the uppermost bolt hole cover. Leaks no where else.

I pulled down the grab handle and the drivers side of the headliner and could see no evidence of the water coming from either the cab lights nor the 3rd brake lite in the rear... No discoloration or dampness on the headliner. I do not have a sunroof.

Any thoughts where this water could be coming from? My only other thought would be possible the door seals or around the windsheild in the corner?

Anyone else experience this? Looking for some advice before I spend a bunch of money blindly chasing this issue.

9 times outa 10 it's the cab lights. but i'm not sure about this one. open it up and close the door and have someone hose the truck down and only getting wet certain areas. should help track it down.

Cab lights, antenna, 3rd brake light, and rear window are all possible leak points. Front leaks are usually windshield or cab lights.

Just an update... I think I have found the cause of my leak... The second cab light in from the drivers side is loose on the roof.. I can push down on the back of it and you can see the gasket under the light is not tight against the roof as it moves up and down with slight pressure.

Hopefully the fix won't be too tough.. maybe just a bit of silicone.

So I removed the cab light referenced yesterday... the factory used this sheet metal nut inserts that proved to be the problem. The design of these Inserts is such that when the screw goes thru they open up the tabs on the backside holding the nuts into the roof... except if the tabs are bent in too much there is a slot the screw goes thru preventing them from expanding and this they do not hold I to the roof. I was able to bend the tabs back out and get it to hold nicely. I also found another bad nut on the passenger side second light in... that light had water under the gasket still....

So with both sides of the lights clamped down I think the factory gaskets should seal nicely... will see what happens!

Yeah, I had a similar problem on my 04.5. IMO cab lights are more of a pain than they are worth unless one needs them for DOT compliance.
