We had a guy bring his RZR into the shop once that had this sticker on it:

Yeah, we wait for news in this thread. Oo_Oo_Oo.

Hi Oz! I was watching the Tour de France and saw some roadside truck campers and thought of you. While we wait for the parts man, can we walk around the barn a bit? I've been wanting to ask you how things are at home? And if this Middle East migration issue in Europe is affecting you? Is there any truth to what they're showing on TV? Or media hype?

Hi Wayne
Yeah, sure we can.
It affects me in a way that is more financial then visible directly.
So, in Europe and especially in Switzerland it goes that way that if a Refuge, we say often illegal Immigrant, sets hes feet over the border he gets everything for free, a place to life, clothing, free health insurance, free dentistry, free lawyer and so on - and all that nice giveaways we have to pay with our taxes. We the common people.

And government is very slow working, they need often 5-8 years to decide if someone can stay or if he has to leave. So we pay and pay and pay.....
Its a Desaster. And best is, they are NOT allowed to work within this time they wait for the decision.
And they still float over the Mediterranean Sea 100000th a year.
Funny thing, they (government and media) tell us day by day those are all poor Refuges. But why those by over 70% just young man between 18 and 25??? Hardly no women, kids and elderly people....

So i dont know where this ride will end, i think europe will stop to exist in the way we have known it.
Look at Switzerland as an example, we have 35% foreigners in this country, as a median over the whole population.
But in the class of my age 42 we have 49% foreigner, and to the even younger generation the swiss are a minority in our own country, can you belive that? Its horrible. Some schools have way over 80% foreigners in class.

I lost my faith in government, we just have to pay and dont speak out loud what we think because we are not free in speech like the americans are, we have very strict laws against racism and so its all prohibited to speak against it.

Well fellow Diesel owners I finally got time yesterday to begin to install the console...there are zero instructions so it is a process to figure out what goes where. Will document as I go along with the install today...

I lost a few hours yesterday when I noticed how grubby the console was so out came the Pet Bot rug cleaner and some Oxy Clean...looks great now.

Wife upended a full thing of black coffee on a rough road years back. We stopped and cleaned it up but it is amazing just how far it went where we could not see...showed right up when I took the seats out for sure....

Brackets (3 out of 4) had location stickers on them....

Not enough of the bolts that are needed, make sure you extras on hand or close by before you start.

Test fitting rear brackets, first issue is the hole for the seat belt anchor tang is not drilled in the right place. You could just bend it up but I prefer that it locates as it is designed to do. So drilled a hole in my brand new bracket...

Took driver's seat out for access, in a perfect install you would install brackets and bases, then console and finally the seats themselves..

I was afraid there would be issues with that duct work and I'm not surprised that I have to make modifications. As long as the height is right I can deal with the rest of it..

If it is not one thing it is another item that will cause you issues! Good thing you know how to wrench on parts.

I was discussing this with my wife the other day since see hates the seats in my third gen truck, but she dose not want to part with the money for a truck that has 108,000 miles on it. She than saw the latest Geno's parts catalogue with the new Geno's seat cushions and she want's me to investigate them. So this maybe my next mission to improve my truck.

Good luck Mike!

Mike didn't you want to reuse the OEM Seatheater switches? Because thatbis my goal, i don't want hidden switches on the seat itself ans useless switches in the dashboard.

As a sidenote, i remember that on my install all the holes and and all the needed bolts were there.
And, important, i installed everything together only handtight or less and after fully assembling i thightened all the bolts to spec. Much easier that way.

Wayne, we'll meet.

Buy some Gen4 Seats from scrapyard, safes a lot of money and they are really really good.
Would be a middle way.

Mike,

I'm ecstatic to see this thread pick up again. This is something my wife and I are seriously considering, so I am following along with bated breath.

Next issue...brackets are too long to clear the ductwork...out comes the cut off wheel..

Is this mismatch with these console brackets simply because you have a mega?

I have been pricing them latest price I have seen is $2K for a set that would fit a Mega Cab. But I have to drive to Ohio to pick them up.

Mike, thanks for the pictorial and details. Very very helpful. You wouldn't happen to have a picture of the final installation that you could post, would you? I'm to the point where I'm just going to call Suburban and get this going. Hopefully I won't have the console bracket debacle that you lived through.

Thought about going the used seat route, but I'd be at right around the same cost and I'd still be getting used seats. A guy on Ebay has a set of front leather seats for $2850.00 that look like they got cleaned with a fire hose.

Time to start gathering parts...
