Hey all,

I have a question regarding the upper radiator seal ( part # 55371021AA). My truck hasn't had one for several years.

Do y'all feel this is something that is necessary to have or am I ok not having it?
What exactly does it do besides make the engine bay look cleaner?

Thank you all in advance and God bless to all of you as I know Harvey didn't affect just Texas. (Dallas resident here)

my 08 doesn't have this, and my 04 does. the 04 sees lower temps while towing. could be the 5.9 vs 6.7 but i think it could be the missing air flow support seals. i don't think it makes that big of a difference.

Ok. Wasn't sure. I saw a video or 2 earlier where some people mentioned that not having it could effect air flow through the intercooler and radiator.

I'm just trying to confirm this before I spend the money for a new one and to have it painted.

That is a part for a 4th Gen truck (you posted in the 3rd Gen forum), Mopar part shows it as not compatible with a 3rd Gen truck. It is compatible with your 2012, 4th gen truck. I'm sure its not vital, but I don't think the OEM just throws on random parts of no reason, If it were me I'd have the seal, appears one can be had for about $30.

Ahhhh I did post in the 3rd gen section. I apologize for this. Well thank you for the answers anywho. I think I'll spend the little bit of money and put one back on.
