Haven't been able to get a diffinitive answer from 3 Ram dealers. I am looking for skid plates for a 2017 Ram 3500 4x4 Mega cab 6.7, to protect the transfer case and fuel tank. Can anyone offer advice and point me in the right direction as far as what parts I need - cross members, bolts, plates? THANKS!!

Before I retired I had installed fuel tank skid parts from the power wagon model, the parts book should list transfer case skid for thr diesel

I had a problem getting mine as well. They weren't sure if I needed a crossmember or not. The plate wouldn't come up with my vin. Which I guess shouldn't be a surprise since it didn't come with one. However I got the plate for the transfer case sans the crossmember and it bolted right up no problem. Part number I got is 68089777ab. That is what fit my 17 crew cab. Bolts were 6509896aa 4 of them. I did not do the fuel tank skid plate so can't help at all on that. $46.74 for all including tax from my local dealer

Did you simply use the gas skid from the same gen/year Power Wagon?

I've been wanting to do this for a while, just have not got around to ordering the parts.

I would like the gas skid as well, but the dealer hasn't a clue. So if the Power Wagon has a gas skid, maybe that will fit my truck as well.

Power Wagons do have a gas skid...attached is a picture of a new Power Wagon in 2015.

Only question is how many mods might be required to help a PW skid fit on a late model 2500/Cummins pickup with a DEF tank. I've not tried yet.

The odds of needing more is very slim,on my current truck I have no skid and never more than scratched the tank lightly,I fo however have suspension and tires.Ive done a ton of off-roading in it including some rock crawling.
