Ok, I am tired of the throttle lag/TQ management in my truck. Took it in several times they even applied the latest update to cure this problem but I don't notice any change. Throttle booster a waste of time. Throttle still not linear. I don't want to void warranty but I want to enjoy my truck and cross 4 lanes of traffic and not get T-boned.

I had a smarty jr on my 2003 5.9 and loved it. Better mileage, lower EGT. With the newer truck what is the best tuner in your mind for improving throttle response if you have experienced what I have. I am not interested in max power but if it adds a little as well that's great as I would assume that the 2017 could handle it just like my 2003 handled the smarty jr with no issues and ran much better. Thanks

I am not one to tell anybody to leave something stock as I can’t seem to leave anything alone. But, if you want to retain your warranty, leave it stock. Even if removed, it can be detected by a dealer. There are too many electronics and emissions garbage on these trucks to risk losing your warranty. I know this first hand as my ‘14 is the worst vehicle I’ve ever had.

Try the BD throttle sensitivity booster box. Beyond that, remember that if you are not in tow/haul mode, the trans might be in 3rd as you coast to a stop, and when you stand on the pedal, it still has to think about your "request" and downshift first.

I believe OP started that was a waste of time. " Throttle booster a waste of time."

Driving style makes the most difference! Roll into the throttle, don't stomp on the pedal.

Tried the BD, no help, now just makes it worse. I don't jump on the throttle. My 5.9 took off smoother and safer in similar circumstances. voiding the warranty and issue but they would have to prove it was the aftermarket device, sure, they could make my life miserable debating it but I plan to have this truck for a while and it is totally unacceptable at this point. I have even had dodge calling me asking me to provide info for them. I suspect its the same concern many have had. too much tq management and not a fast enough processor to respond to various situations. It is really unsafe in my mind.

So file a complaint on government safe car site!

^^^ If the number of people that complain about the laggy go pedal actually took the time to file a complaint, this would have been addressed by Ram already. I filed and it literarily took only minutes.

It's not really the same post. That was written before he got the truck and was asking tuner questions. Now that he has it and the problem soooo many of have, he wants to mitigate the problem somewhat. I have now driven several of the 2014 to 2017 trucks with and without the Aison. They don't all have the lag or even the same lag and style of driving has nothing to do with it. Those who don't have the problem cannot seem to recognize that it IS a problem. But the BD product did help mine a little. I guess it's about all we can do at this point. And yes, I lodged my complaint with the Guv'ment. Heard nothing about that so far. And BTW, in one of my redundant comments in another thread on this issue, the factory rep who had mine hooked to a computer while documenting my complaint said some other trucks much are worse than mine. Hard to imagine. Sorry to repeat that again but maybe the folks with newer trucks have not read that.

You are a great detective :-laf

The redundancy of certain threads here on TDR.......is fast approaching the redundancy of threads over on CF.

On a sidenote......it is all about driving style. If I can roll into traffic with a GCW of 26k to 31k and not get flattened like Frogger, anyone can.

....Even me????:-laf

For anyone sitting on the fence about deleting, there are Facebook groups with nothing but deleted programming problems.

Nisaan fixed it with their cummins power plant. I have problems with my Hyundai Genensis doing the same thing . Complaint to NHTSA

Yes, its real and the BD helped a little but I feel it also exacerbates the surge when the truck kicks in. Oh, cant wait for the snow, will have to tiptoe or just drive the MDX. I will lodge when I find the link again, wanted to give the shop a chance to enter a star complaint which they said they would do but how do I know. Answered Dodges customer sat questioner that problem was NOT solved and dangerous. I have heard it happens more with the aisin but who knows. I just cant imagine that my old 5.9 would be able to have a more linear and quicker throttle response than the 2017, crazy. After I get going and pulling 5th wheel it is nice but even then on transitions from off pedal to on you notice a lag that really doesn't have to be there. Tried tow mode but still off the line it has the problem and I don't need the more uptight shifting pattern when I am not towing so I guess we are stuck until a fix comes in. My dealer said RAM reads these sites so I know that THEY KNOW the issue. Why they don't fix is the real concern.
