Posted this in another forum and wanted to share my thoughts and get your opinions.
"6000K in my 2016 Ram 3500
Finally grabbed one. Used with 24K on it. Honestly coming from my 2002 Powerstroke I feel pampered. Truck is great. Comfortable. Fuel mileage is crazy. Worse tank hand calculated is 20.9 mpg. Honestly the truck is ford the Bill for the current situation. Now a few questions.
1: does the fuel filter typically need to be changed the same time as the oil filter? Sash read our puts the within 1% of each other.
2: While extremely comfortable I would have preferred the bench seat with cold down arm rest. How come this damn ram rest squeasqueaks? I still have the 2002 Powerstroke with captains chairs and Center console. 300K. No squeaky console. Everything else does though.
3: Can we find the engineer who signed off on the 68rfe? For a vehicle that cost this much it's the only buzz kill for me. Very frustrating. I have an extended warranty to 125K but other than an aftermarket granny what can be done? Tune? Torque converter? Valve body? Do I really have to do all to make it survive?
It short shifts. As I'm sure you're all aware. 1st to 2nd is a positive shift. 2-3-4 It just gurggles it way as it slips the converter. 5th hear @ 35mph? Are you kidding me? I can manual shift It to my liking but that button does not shift immediately. Looking for some insight from those who have remedied this.
It really is a great truck. transmission's a low point. This is my 1st "Chrysler" product since my 87 Ramcharger. Thanks for the help in advance guys.
