This is the same casting number as Cummins shows for my 1998 Dodge Ram truck, but looks like it is a NOS Ford part. It should fit, right? Or should I get the Chinese aftermarket one that has the built in pin retainer? How do the aftermarket one's compare to OEM?
The Ford Part is about the same price without gaskets as the Chinese one with gaskets.

Ford owns Cummins dontcha know? :-laf
Actually I'd get the OE item. To have it in a Ford box is unusual but it's common knowledge that the B was used by Ford quite often.

Ford does not own Cummins never did , They only owned for a short period of time . As does the actual Cummins family I was told that out of Lyle Cummins mouth .

Cummins set the record straight in their May 2013 newsletter, outlining that Ford Motor Company had purchased 10.8% of the diesel engine manufacturer in 1990. In 1997, those shares were bought back, and as such Ford has not owned a stake in Cummins since.

Just as a point of reference.....

3920519 supercedes to 3936256. Would sell here for 362.77.

Go with the Ford OE for sure if the price is right, it's too damn far in there to be Beta testing Chinese castings......

I did see that it supercedes. I googled both numbers and you can find either one on the internet, however the newer one is more money. I snoozed on an OEM one on Ebay that was listed at $150 and of course someone else snapped it up. Does the superceded one have the updated dowel pin hole so the KDP can't come out?

That may be the case but I can't find documentation to prove it. Will look again later...

Something I've been known to do is look at the box itself. Where was it printed (anywhere near a Cummins depot for example and does the carton mfgr date come close to the casting date) and carefully peel off the Ford label. Hold it up to the light and see if it is over top of a different label. Sometimes the cover-up label has a black background to hide the primary label.
