Well it held off, no snow here until last Saturday night....then 6-8" fell overnight. Now another one today..

9 degrees at the house this morning, supposed to be 40 degrees tonight....6-8" of snow again today, then finishing as rain.....below zero tomorrow night.

The snow will be just like cement.....I can't wait.....

So here is a shot of what we call a "Snow Sky"...

Mike, You could always ask your dealership to open a branch office in FL somewhere! But I know how hardy you Mainers are and love the outdoors in the winter months. Just watch the Animal Plant on TV and they show the great outdoors of Maine and the citizens of Maine enjoying the winter all of the time.

We are not much better in the Midwest right now, the temperature was 13F with a wind chill of 2F this morning. We did have a light dusting of snow last night with more on the way Wednesday.

Or you could be in the land of fruits and nut watching all of the dry tinder burn, me I would rather have the snow.

It is late fall going into winter so, this is what we expect for this time of year.

BTW Merry Christmas.

Jim

I feel for you. We just arrived back in Az. after 7 Months in Minot ND. I saw as low as -2 and the wind rarely blows less than 15mph up there. We are the proud Grandparents of a 7lb Baby Boy tho. I could stand those kind of temps in my late teens/early twenties but not in my 60's.

Make it SC, real estate abundant and cheaper, lots of country living.

I ended up on a side road that parallels I-26 near Orangeburg last summer when 26 was shut down due to an accident. I can't remember off the top of my head the exact route # (178 or 321 maybe). Anyway, we passed some of the most beautiful land I've ever seen. Beautiful farms surrounded by open flat fields. I'd love to know what the town was, but it was very nice when we passed through. My experience with SC has always just been driving through or staying in hotels. If I ever get a chance, I really want to spend some more time just driving around looking at the area.

Tonight's conditions, Snow, freezing rain and sleet at 24 degrees. Should be some kind of special come morning....

Yes mike, it's a messy winter by us too- and winter hasn't even started yet!

I've been I26, the full length from Hilton Head to Spartanburg, and especially Columbia. I gotta say the whole mountain region- GA, SC, NC, TN, VA- most Appalachia- has been breathtaking to me.

Yup. Up here in the hills of western Virg. around Salem/Roanoke, it can get hot and humid in the summer, but not for more than a week or two around July/August. It can get down around 0°F in the winter, but rarely for more than a week or two. We've had almost no ice storms in recent years, and rarely get more than 2-3 inch of snow at a time which melts in a day, and even a 2 foot dusting is usually gone in a week.

Here, you still get four seaons: a short mild-ish winter, long early spring, normal mild-ish summer, and a long late autumn.

A great place for folks who don't like it too cold, too hot, or too humid. Come to think of it, I don't recall a whole lot of wind, either.

I think Denver mean 'western Virginia' in his song. It *is* almost heaven here. Hate to leave it, but I may have to.

Still here in So Cal 84 today and no rain in sight. The political climate drives me crazy, but your photos remind me of one of the only things we have left. Anyway wishing you a Merry White Christmas.

All I can say is, we (in the mid West) were waay overdue!

So, when can we expect a track kit on the Can Am? :D

Not a native SC, still exploring. We've got huge tracts of pines, flatlands, coastline, what do you do here to make a living land and my favorite, the Upstate. The Upstate is the NW corner, borders NC and a bit of GA. you're just hitting the foothills of the mountains. Rolling hills, forests, some lakes, waterfalls and small town America.

Lot's of folks here take their recreation pretty seriously.

My sister and her husband are looking to move to Ocean Isle NC when they retire. They would like us to move down there eventually also. To tell you the truth, it's a beautiful area but a little too $$$ for me, at least at this point. However, there is lots of nice rural ground heading back in to SC that would interest me I'd we decided to make that choice.

Lots of years to go yet before that becomes a possibility however.

As predicted, everything frozen solid. Can’t get into the Yukon, all doors frozen shut. Will have to use remote start and let it run for an hour so I can get in. I need it tomorrow..

This morning on the way to work..

It was 21 here this morn, but it was biting. I guess the dew point was real down too. And of course I was outside quite a bit, got a chill, and now I feel I'm going on the down sheet.
