47re valve body question

While re-doing a valve body including installing a shift kit I came to directions saying to file this area (see picture). When I got to that particular part this area had already been filed down (see picture). No other indications of a shift kit (drilled holes, springs, etc). What does this filed area particularly do?... and does this perhaps come on an aftermarket valve body perhaps?

It’s to reduce pressure buildup where it’s not needed........in reverse (if I remember correctly)

I got someone else saying it's to force feed pressure to the torque converter in park...?.. That notch is located at the manual valve bore.

Maybe to allow it to pump fluid in Park?

Yeah, Don's reply was my last post. I can't picture how though as that valve is already bottomed out so it never sits flush on top of that bore.

Ok well has anyone ever purchased an aftermarket valve body with that area notched on it? Trying to determine if one I have is stock or an aftermarket. No indication of a brand stamped on it, does have an inked stamped # X100603 on it but google doesn't find anything.
