2017 RAM 3500 Mirror Turn Signals

Does anyone know if my folding towing mirrors with factory turn signals, heaters, and electric positioning controls can be programmed to have the turn signal lights operate as running lights as well? It looks like a standard feature on the competition; Ford, GM, etc.

I have gone through my standard owners manual, and the extended thick set of owner's manuals and can't find any information about this.

Nope. But there is a mod you can do so the lights on the mirrors will act as running lights and blinkers.

Where is this mod listed? How involved is it? In doing so will the LEDs still function as turn signals or at that point are they running lights only?

In the old days of trucking, the manufacturers started putting running lights on the front side of the mirrors. They looked cool but in fog, rain or snow, they blinded you because they were right at eye. In foul weather you want to be surrounded by darkness to see the best.
43 years over the road with 5.85 million miles accident free. When it didn't work, I got rid of it.

I had not considered the safety and visibility aspect with the fog conditions. That is a good point. Since the light is smaller than the other running lights, perhaps that may not be an issue with our mirror lights?
