I am looking at buying another truck. My 2012 3500 SRW MegaCab 4wd has been great. I am going to keep it and buy an additional one.

I for sure want another Megacab 3500 SRW 4wd diesel

I see there are some 2017s at significant discounts (13k).

Doesn't seem like much difference between a 17 and 18 unless I was getting a dually.

Really don't think I want v 1.0 of the new truck in the form of a 2019.

Comments?

I would take the 2017 deeply discounted and let the 2019 cook a bit before jumping in. This current run started in 2013 took a couple years to work out bugs. We have a 2015 that has been great, however features were added in the 2016+ that would have been nice. Front park senors etc.

Remember that anytime theres a redesign of a vehicle, there will likely be bugs. I'd go for the current style if it were me

There are some good deals on the 2017s. I want reliability. Exactly why I bought a 2012 - it seems to be pretty well sorted out.

Cummins has unveil EGR less Motors, I think it safe! for me to say! their are coming to Ram. I'm going to wait for those power plants to make it to Ram.

Nothing wrong with great deals if available

Yup. BUGS!

1) My fuel filter counter/minder tells me to change fuel filters at 11000-11500ish(+/-) miles instead of 15k. Maybe it is converting miles to km? Never taken it down to zero, so unsure of exact miles.

2) idle hours - after 4.5 years i have only 7 idle hours. I think it counts some idle hours as drive hours.

3) if def tank fill gauge on dash goes below 3/4, I get error code saying NOx sensor out of range.

4) Active gen notification on dash sometimes will happen 4-6 times a week. Even if I take it on the hwy until it tells me active gen has completed. It will re-enter regen several times even after telling me regen is complete. And then a month or 2 later, it will do it again for a week.

5) sometimes when engine is cold, it will die after starting. And I'll have to restart and give a little accelerator tap to keep it from during

Flashes have not addressed these issues.
