Hi guys,
Just got new 2018 CC 3500, 6.7 SW, 8’ box, 3.42’s with Aisin. I have done some searching and not many answers. At about 1800-2000 rpm’s it has a crazy steady (sounds like) exhaust pulsing. I never heard this at any rpm in any of my previous Dodge Cummins. Just kind of a quick description to see if this is as big of an issue that some searchs indicate. Didn’t notice until I did a highway run. Only 600 miles on truck. Crazy annoying!!

Appreciate any help,

thanks,Rob

the only "pulsing" i get in my 2500 2018 crew cab cummins is when i roll down either rear window about 1.5 inches. some kind of wind buffeting...it makes the insides of my ears itch when i do it. :)

Yes, I get that as well. It sounds like the typical exhaust drone but it pulses. Kind of similar to a tire running out of balance noise, back off throttle and noise disappears, touch throttle again and noise is pack. No vibration a

when driving under lightly loaded conditions at highway speeds I can hear my radiator fan cycling. its rhythmic in nature and not very loud..but its there and once you notice it, you will hear it over and over unless you turn on the radio or put enough background noise in the truck to overwhelm it

I have heard about some with this same issue and have had the truck bought back. My Aisin does not do this. But, others have reported it and there is a few that had it fixed with a new torque convertor but most cant get rid of the sound. Hope you get it sorted out.

I love the sound of the cummins. But after 1300 rpm, I can't hear or feel anything but smooth running.

Is pulsing vibration?

People who upgrade to 19.5 or 22.5 inch wheels have them on ebay. I waited until they dropped the price $100-$200 from their original price. Actually, there are these ebay tire/wheel dealers that specialize in the reselling. They came with original low mileage tires on them. I gave away/donatef my 17 inch rims to the school where I work (to the ag dept). Will soon get rid of the junk firestone on them

They are all over Craigslist as well.

I have yet to find the 68RFE exhaust. Is it just the Aisin? :-laf

Thought it was a exhaust drone/pulse, tech had just returned for training, they had discussed an issue very similar to mine, ordered a new torque convertor, problem has been gone now for 2 years.

Yes, Aisin only
