I took my truck in for 4 recalls, one of them being the #T05 SELECTIVE CATALYTIC REDUCTION replacement. On the way home, about 20 miles from the dealer, the check engine light came on. It was after hours when we picked it up, so we went on home, 70 miles each way. The next week we dropped it off on Thursday night, they called Friday and I believe he said the emission module had burned out, it wasn't covered by the recall, and I would have to pay for it. I told them to put the old SCR back on and remove the update because the truck wasn't broke and the light wasn't on when I brought it in. They said their manger wouldn't be in until Monday. Has anybody run into this?

6.4 Getting Service Under the Federal
Emission Warranties
A. Steps You Can Take, and How to Get More
Information
To get warranty service -- even if you’re traveling -- take
your truck to any Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or Ram dealer.
(Chrysler recommends that you take your truck to a
dealer who sells the same make of truck as yours.) That
dealer will perform any warranty service without charging
you for diagnosis, parts or labor.
If you think your dealer has wrongly denied you
emission-warranty coverage, follow the steps described
in 7.1. Chrysler will reply to you in writing within 30
days after receiving your complaint (or within the time
limit required by local or state law). If the owner is not
notified within 30 days that a warranty claim is denied,
the manufacturer must repair the truck free of charge.
If you want more information about getting service
under the Federal Emission Warranty, or if you want to
report what you think is a violation of these warranties,
you can contact:
Manager, Certification and Compliance
Division, Warranty Claims
Environmental Protection Agency
1200 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Mail Code 6403J

7. How to Deal with Warranty
Problems
7.1 Steps to Take
A. In General
Normally, warranty problems can be resolved by your
dealer’s sales or service departments. That’s why you
should always talk to your dealer’s service manager or
sales manager first. But if you’re not satisfied with your
dealer’s response to your problem, Chrysler Group LLC
(Chrysler) recommends that you do the following:
Step 1:
Discuss your problem with the owner or general manager
of the dealership.
Step 2:
If your dealership still can’t resolve the problem, contact
the Chrysler Customer Assistance Center. You’ll find the
address in section 7.2.
B. What Chrysler Will Do
Once you have followed the two steps described in
7.1(A), a Chrysler representative at Chrysler headquarters
will review your situation. If it’s something that
Chrysler can help you with, Chrysler will provide your
dealer with all the information and assistance necessary
to resolve the problem. Even if Chrysler can’t help you,
Chrysler will acknowledge your contact and explain
Chrysler’s position.

Odds are the recall was not performed properly, wrong software was installed or maybe they didnt flash it at all.

I would say, in this case the re[air should be on the deal;er as it happened immediately after they did the repair.. and if they don't feel like they should pay for it its time to get on the phone with customer service

Monday we called the dealership and the service writer said the owner came in and said if the truck came in with no lights on it needs to leave that way, they will take care of it. They got the new module in one day. Picked it up this evening made it home with no lights on.

On my truck they removed the sensor in the SCR based on the tech bulletin BUT FAILED to remove the small computer attached to the sensor. Then the check engine light came back on in 20 miles and like you they sold me more parts, when Chrysler care finally got involved, now 6 repair orders later they discovered the real problem of the T-05 not being done correctly, under pressure the dealer finally caved and REFUNDED all the parts and labor done from their screw up.

That noted, after I called customer care the dealer drug there feet an DC wouldn't contact them.

I was lucky ad my friendship with the GM made it possible for the service manager to listen, he had tried to dismiss me 2 other times

CHRYSLER CARE, basically shared there are a lot of "service tech's," without the proper training and Carr to follow written procedures

These where 4 recalls.
Newberry motors, they have been pretty good. I have never had to fight with them, they have always done what's right. They are out of the way. But the 3 I have to choose from are all 70 miles away. This one has what I consider a real gear head not a kid and he also works at a cummins garage. One doesn't have a lift that can pick up my truck. The other has new employs every other month.
