68RFE front pump seal leak?

coolant leak rear of engine no idea where...

I have a 2017 ram 3500 dually with the 6.7 cummins and aisin transmission all stock. the truck has 23000 miles bought it new and I replaced the fuel filters with the stock filters about 1000 miles ago. Now I am getting a surging under light load and also at 60 mph almost feels like you lightly pumping the brakes. has anyone had this problem or know how I can get this fixed thanks.

It is all stock so I still have a lot of warranty left. The only mod I have made is putting a S&B cold air box on it. Would cleaning the map sensor help and whats the best way to clean it?

did the surging start after that box install?

Stock paper filter is better, if you believe what Cummins has said in the past...for that reason and others... I'm not a fan of the cold air boxes... esp. on a factory setup like the Ram Cummins has.

It didn't start right after i put it on. Its been installed for about 15000 miles i dont use the oiled filter i only use there dry filter.

I'm still leaning on MAP or Intake sensor, clean them up and see what you have... takes about 15 Minutes.. the Dealer may hacker butcher something.

In my past trucks I gained nothing from aftermarket filters and or filter systems except oiled and dusted intakes and the stress of what harm I'm doing to the engine. On the last truck that was chipped, the service air filter notice would come on when I turned up the chip and laided into the go peddle. I went back to the stock box with the Fleetguard OEM filter and I could not get it to give me the service filter warning. Point is is that there is no gain from the aftermarket filters. You may now have the dealer turning you away on warrantee coverage with your issue due to the aftermarket system if it turns out to be anything intake related. The air box systems on these truck and the deep filters are awesome for air flow and volume as well as choosing to open up the RAM AIR flap when suitable.

If the Factory Air Filter were NOT supplying the Volume needed to satisfy the HG created by the intake Vacuum it would stuck it right into the Turbo, Now if the intake filter is showing signs of collapsing That's when you need More air, I'm certain the factory Filter is capable of supplying the demand the OEM turbo creates at MAX HG, Change the turbo to Bigger Wheels and You will than need to change the intake system.

Its just hard for me to believe that putting a new air intake that uses the same active air box swing gate as the factory box and has been on the truck for almost 20000 miles and just now making my truck surge.

I pulled the map sensor out and cleaned it today going to pull the mass flow air sensor out tomorrow and clean it. I didn't start having this problem intill i changed the two fuel filters aboit 1000 miles ago and i put factory fuel filters back in it

Its not likely related to fuel delivery...If the fuel go's to Vacuum the COV will shut, the truck will buck or lay down to the point of stalling.

Got up early this morning and pulled the map sensor on the pressurized side of the intake and cleaned it again also pulled the sensor on the air cleaner tube also the mass flow air sensor and cleaned them all really good. I disconnected the batterys while i was cleaning just to make sure i was not disrupting anything. After all that nothing has changed still the same surge at light acceleration.

OK, do You have the ability to clear codes? this next step is going to put the truck in default operation..Staying closed loop.. it will only use the info form CAM/Crank and APPS to operate...If you can't clear codes it will take several starts and stops to clear the CEL.... After you plug the sensor back in,Unplug the coolant sensor, this will peg your Dash gage and will cause the fan to engage at times up to speeds of 30MPH after that it will dis-engage. Drive to see if condition exists with coolant sensor disconnected.

Ok i pulled the plate off between the egr tube and coolant sensor. I unplugged it and put the plate back on almost immediately threw a code for the coolant sensor. I took it for a drive. Backing out of my driveway was smooth i thought we found the problem but as soon as i put it in drive and Gave light throttle and started surging. I drove it for 25 miles and came back slowed down and still surging.

Skinner2008 Its under warranty, All the simple stuff you have None, it will need to see the Dealer...they will need to view sensor out/in Puts... it may also need Updates to resolve communications...You have put more effort than required let the Dealer find the problem..So many things cause surging form Wheel Sensor to Injectors. It could be a Vehicle speed sensor sending wrong signal to ABS...etc.

One More thing do, does it do it with cruise control engaged.
