I changed my fuel filter at 148748 Miles on my 05 Ram and the OEM Clear Drain Hose Fell off afterwards (along with my drain hose extension) The OEM hose was cracked at the Fuel Filter drain, broken inside my extension hose and basically trash.
I should be able to find the similar size hose to replace it with and make it longer for convenience, but has anyone dealt with the Fuel Filter Drain Hose "Clamp", it looks like it has 2 set screws.
Anyone dealt with this before? What kind of set screws? Socket? Hex? Metric? Philips?
Need to fix it within the next 10k miles/year...
Thanks!

I replaced the drain hose on my '03 a few years ago. I went to the auto parts store and bought a length of standard fuel line. I didn't trust the quality of the clear tubing from the local Home Despot, and didn't see any disadvantage to using something opaque. I also figured that fuel line will last a lot longer than the clear stuff. I forget the inside diameter, but if you have a piece of the old line just measure it. From what I remember, the OEM clear tube was held on with a zip tie, which I clipped with wire cutters. I decided to go with a band clamp to hold the new line onto the fuel filter canister.

Thanks!
Detailed inspection confirmed it was just held on with a Zip Tie. I'll take a piece of the old drain hose and get it replaced on my next stop at the auto parts store. Its probably 1/2" ID based on trying to measure the old hose.

Happened to me Monday. It just crumbled as I draped it forward so it would shoot into the drain pan.
Sure does look like 1/2. A length of neoprene and a miniclamp is on its way.

I fixed mine today. A little challenging due to awkward location.
A 2' piece of Gates Black (Thick) 1/2" ID hose was procured from the Auto Parts store for $4.31 (versus about the same price for 10' of clear neoprene).
I chamfered the end of the hose that was to go on the Drain Valve fitting "barb" and lubed it with Vaseline, but it still took quite a bit of effort to push that thick hose on. Its staying in place after I installed a small hose clamp and gave it some good tugs. I assume the Gates Brand Hose will last the lifetime...

Glad you got it fixed. I meant to add getting the length you want, since it is probably sold in 1' increments. But with 2' of hose you aren't going to have any problems getting a bottle under it. Just make sure it isn't so long that it gets tangled up in something while you are driving. It would really suck if the hose got snagged on something and yanked the fuel filter canister's valve assembly off the bottom of the canister. I think that would pretty much leave you dead in the water. I have also been concerned about getting the lid on the canister cross-threaded and trashing the seal when changing the fuel filter.
