Coming home from the coast yesterday, this flashed on the screen. Less 5 Minutes later, it's says regen is complete. I've got 53,000k miles on the truck and it's a little over 2 years old since I bought it new. I have never seen this before but I do know my truck has been is region multiple times since I bought it.

Our drive to the coast was 3.5 hours, with average speeds of about 65-70 mph. I parked the truck, and it didn't move again until I was back on the road to go home.

It was a real hastle, but somehow I managed to tap on your picture and by a miracle from God, it enlarged. Whoa, talk about first world problems!

That’s somewhere around the mileage when mine started showing this message. Except, mine came on during winter. At first, it was maybe only once every other month. Now, it comes on every time I start the truck during the winter months. It’s never come on during the summer.

Is there any way to see current soot load? Yes you did a regen, but how good was it? Betcha it didn’t burn off more than 50%.

My impression..... passive regen never fully clears soot from DPF. Active regen never fully clears soot from DPF. Most DPFs are 50-80% full most of the time.

Most of us who have an emotional connection to our trucks will have a very large exhaust system bill to pay when the whole thing rusts out

And I think active trend are minimized by programming for 3 reasons.

1) preserve Exhaust system (less temp = longer life)

2) fuel economy.

3) fuel dilution will occur if constantly in active regen

Next time your in the area we should put it into De-soot mode a couple more times before winter, Also their's a new PCM and TCM Update.

Active Regens in many cases work, But the only solution to Keep your SCR/Turbo/DPF clean is Stationary De-soot, I'm surprise the aftermarket does NOT sell this software, My guess is the fire danger that comes with the process.

With WItech 2.0 available you can Buy the MIC II , Open both WItech 2.0 and Tech Authority Account, pay FCA their Blood money and your good to go.

You will need PIN codes for both Ign and Vehicle Plus NASTF for Key burning if you want to make additional FOBs $$$.

Certain security will be require, Mess with it and this what happens.

On June 11th NASTF had to shut down almost 1300 Vehicle Security professional accounts for sharing their credentials. This was happening inside businesses as well as with code brokers such as auto code who have told our VSPs that they are approved by NASTF and automakers. This could not be further from the truth.

One month later we have received and reviewed thousands of positive ID forms and found a distressing number of those, let’s just say most, that are not filled out completely. We suspended over 200 of these for a longer period of time to offer some training on how and why these forms need to be completed accurately.

As shown in multiple posts and threads, over many years, the numerical value is an algorithm. The warning light runs off a pressure switch.

That 's why I'm not concerned if it does a couple of regens in a single week
And then waits a couple/three/four months to do it again

So why is it showing up at 53k miles and not before? I know my truck has regen'd several times before, but the only way I knew it was in regen is because of an odd smell and a low tone ticking noise during idle.

I'm guessing the previous regen's only cleared a small amount, all the while the filter is continuing to collect more soot and it just so happens that the filter reached capacity this time?

Before, your DPF differential pressure wasn't high enough to trigger the message. It has been (actively) regenerating regularly without giving you a message.

Mine doesn't regen at idle as much as it used to. It likes to wait until on the hwy. After the flash last October, I used to be able to tell from the engine noise when it was regenerating at idle. Not any more..... So I think it doesn't do it at idle as much as it used to. No ticking sound, and no smell for me... In fact, I never had the ticking sound and smell.

I've got a Scangauge II which monitors several PID's live pertaining to the after treatment system . My soot load will slowly but steadily climb up to 98-100% soot load before going into active regen at which time it will stay in active regen until reaching near 0% soot load - roughly 20 minutes start to finish. Active regen verified by elevated EGT's which the Scangauge also monitors. I've not yet seen a message like yours (90k miles). Hopefully this isn't a sign of things to come!

Assuming your truck is a daily driver, (I think it is), your truck isn't waiting 3-4 months between regens. At least not by what I see on my Scangauge.

I'd love to get a witech 2 pod, but between the upfront cost and the $1600 a year subscription fee it makes it makes it tough for a DIYer to swallow. All the more reason to delete, hopefully the aftermarket can figure this out.

Actually, I meant 3-4 months.... sometimes up to 6 months to see the EVIC coumtdown.

I wasn't clear about that. Yes, I don't have a gauge to monitor. But I'm sure it does several ravens per month behind the scenes

That's my point, I've never seen a count down on my EVIC. I don't think that's a normal occurrence.

Normal by what standards? To me, it’d be abnormal not to see it every time I start my truck. Then again, my wife tells me all the time I’m not normal.

I don't know, I just know I have never seen that message on my EVIC. Perhaps you only see that message when your truck is shut down prior to completing an active Regen after so many times? Watching mine go through complete regens as many times as I have through my Scangauge and never seeing a message on my EVIC tells me something is off here...
