Hi all, I've replaced both front calipers on my '01 2500. After bleeding, the pedal is firm. Once truck is started the pedal goes to the floor. Went and bled all 4 calipers after thinking air was my problem. Didn't help any. Where else can there be air trapped or, do I have another problem?

Does it have antilock brakes. If so you probably need to take it to a dealer so that the abs module can be bled. Hard to get teh air out of it without activating it with a good scantool.

Ok. How can air get in there? Don’t believe the level in the reservoir dropped low enough.

You took the line off, fluid drips out and air gets into the line, air goes to the highest spot so it works it way up to the engine compartment. If you opened the system up you should do an ABS bleed. Basically you fully bleed the brakes, then cycle the abs pump then bleed them again. Need a scanner or software that can access the abs pump controller. Autoenginuity will do it. Some have had luck find a gravel road and slamming on the brakes so that the abs kicks in and cycles the pump that way.

Get a Vacuum Brake Bleeder. It will draw the air out while pulling fluid through the system. Do all four, not just the front. Refill the master cylinder after each one.
