I also have a full 7 quarts of SyntorqLT in my 4500. With the Fastcoolers taking an additional quart apiece, thats almost one quart overfilled. I filled it through the top when I had the tower off. Been like this for about 6 years and lots of towing. The ONLY reason you'd ever compromise seals is if the vent was plugged. And...that would happen at factory fill levels too.
Here's a picture of the sight glass I put in the fill hole. You can see nothing but fluid...
Mine was the same with the extra qt ...so i just drained iut enough to see the level at the top of the glass which would be slightly overfilled.

I'm running Royal Purple in mine and have for years. There was an article in TDR about using Redline instead and I plan to do that on my next oil change. My third gear is starting to get a bit finicky about going in without double clutching. This started on last trip we pulled the fifth wheel in 100+ degree heat for hours on end. We solved that issue by getting a 4th gen but I still have the '95. My advice is that when towing, anytime you can avoid 3rd or 5th, then do it. My trans has 230,000 miles, is the factory original with no issues to this point.

Thanks Katoom

I apologize Michaelsloft, I looked and looked but cant find anything which tells me exactly where I got it or a part number either. I do though remember that its a regular 3/4" NPT fitting.
At the time I was looking for a few other fittings so maybe I was mistaken about that last website because they seemingly only list sight plug type with the internal backing. The one I have has nothing in it but glass.
If I can be of any more help, please let me know...

No apology required and thanks to you Katoom and NIsaacs I'll be able to order what I need for a sight glass. Grainger has a good selection available. Thank you for the effort and helpful information.
